We’ve got a special treat for all of you lovelies today! One of our longtime faves – 31 Bits is launching their Holiday 2016 Collection! Here’s the thing about 31 Bits – they’re a rad company, doing super rad things. The company began about eight years ago, and was established by five college students here in California. Their mission was to create jobs for women in places where they couldn’t find work otherwise – and through their efforts, they’ve been able to employ + educate a staff of 150 women in Northern Uganda. How cool is that?
With a focus on ethical + responsible jewelry, the team at 31 Bits is expanding their mission and starting a division in Bali. At the heart of it all is the belief, “The way your products are made MATTERS”. So we’re super excited to share the latest collection from 31 Bits! Inspired by the traditional techniques of the Javanese art form, they’ve teamed up with artists from Bali to create Javanese jewelry with a modern twist.

Gorgeous accessories for a beachy + boho wedding, don’t you think?
31 Bits shares Each of the artisans on our team spent years studying and perfecting the craft of creating jewelry from brass. They were working in factories where the work was inconsistent and they were paid poorly. At 31 Bits, we are able to give these artisans full-time work, a fair and consistent income, and joyful, safe working conditions. Their income allows them to provide for their families, send their kids to school, and put money into savings. For these skilled artisans, it’s not just about making money, it’s about doing something they love. From the first cut of brass to the soldering and sanding to the final polish, the long and intricate process of creating a piece of jewelry is creative, expressive, and fulfilling.
How pretty is this necklace?
