Downtown LA Cocktail Party Wedding Inspiration

Moody Cocktail Party

A couple of months ago we featured the above couple’s SUPER COOL engagement shoot – and we mean really cool (it starts off with them lounging at home in sweatpants to touring LA to… well, take a peek to see all the goodness! So needless to say, we were thrilled when we found out that Art & Soul Events was using Nisha + Brandon as models for a “Cocktail Party” inspired wedding shoot, all photographed by the talented Jes Workman.

We LOVE Jessica of Art & Soul Events and all the raw talent she brings to the wedding industry (just wait till’ you see what she came up with for this one!) so when she sent us this shoot we we’re all swooning. Here’s what she had to say “For the overall design, we were inspired by the venue’s raw industrial space. Seventh Place is a newly opened venue in the Arts District of Downtown LA – located in an old industrial warehouse with exposed brick and an enclosed patio. We wanted to design a moody, romantic and edgy wedding that would capture the eclectic spirit of the neighborhood and celebrate the character of Los Angeles.”

Let’s proceed to the party, shall we?

Jen Plus Colour created a subtle hair and makeup look to enhance the bride’s natural beauty. How pretty is that Kite + Butterfly getting ready robe?

The insanely talented Corie, of Foxtail Florals, spray painted tall wood panels and nailed fresh flowers on top of the dripping paint, making them both edgy + beautiful.

Mama’s Medicine crafted two signatures cocktails, one was a peach/whiskey/ginger punch and the other was a cucumber/mint/fennel gimlet.

Jessica shares We wanted to highlight a beautiful appetizer station rather than a plated dinner tablescape. Amy’s Culinary Adventures crafted a fresh, delicious, and rustic menu inspired by a trip to the local farmers market. She made beautiful cheese and charcuterie spreads, goat cheese + beet stacks, potato bruschetta, and asparagus caprese.
