This morning we shared some of the planning and inspiration behind the Free Wedding by YEAH! weddings – and now it’s time to share Melanie + Kelcey‘s amazing wedding! Seriously such a fun and perfectly styled wedding! Just wait until you see the photos by Max Wanger and Our Labor of Love. The Bash, Please ladies took care of the design + planning and seriously knocked it out of the park. Such a perfect blend of whimsy, modern elements and sophisticated design. All the artists involved donated their time + talents to throw one heck of a wedding for this super sweet couple!
Melanie’s pretty dress is from Lovely Bride here in Los Angeles. Her pretty flower hair accessory is thanks to ban.do. And Symmetry Beauty did a fantastic job with the hair + makeup!
Aren’t these two just the cutest!?!
Love the bridesmaids dresses from BHLDN! Their fun feather hair accessories are from ban.do. The groomsmen suits are from All Saints and their shirts + ties are from The Grunion Run. And yes, those are Geronimo Balloons in the back!
Processional: If Not For You – George Harrison, Heartbeats – Jose Gonzalez
Recessional: Awaiting On You All – George Harrison
First Dance: I'd Have You Anytime – George Harrison
We were so lucky to have Minister Myles. He really helped us personalize our ceremony. Myles met with us individually to tell our own point of view of our love story. He captured it all, and told the most beautiful story of #melceylove on the wedding day. We’ve received so many compliments on how touching our ceremony was, and Myles was definitely a huge contribution to that. We were also really thankful that Myles has a great sense of humor. Kelcey and I joke around a ton, and Myles was the perfect person to incorporate our love of laughter into the day.
Our favorite moment from the day was definitely our ceremony. When I walked down the aisle to Kelcey he had tears in his eyes. The guests were seated in a circle all around us. It was a really amazing feeling having everyone we love sitting so close. As Myles told our story, I could easily look to see each person that had been involved with each memory. I felt completely supported. And the scene was beautiful. I can still picture the perfect sunlight, and those amazing chairs.
We wanted to give out a wedding favor that would be fun and memorable. Since music is a big part of our life, we thought it would be perfect to have everyone shake a tambourine at the end of the ceremony. Kelcey carved a design into a linoleum block, and hand-stamped each tambourine with paint in the colors of the wedding. I remember walking into our living room to a sea of tambourines. I had no idea he had such a talent! They were a really fun addition to the day.
Stayed tuned for their rad reception coming up next!

so much fun and so creative! who’s the designer of the bride’s shrug?
hi mina! I had the shrug custom made by Olivia at A Stitch in Time in Brentwood, CA.
I love the tambourines! It is such a unique way to tie in something you both love, yet give you a great congratulations as you became husband and wife as well!
I love the girls dresses and the bouquets were so pretty!
Love the bride’s shoes!! Do you know where she got them??
hi monica! they are Butter.
Nice use of the tilt and shift lens, always like how it focus the attention and helps with the emotional conatent. Nice colors, too.
No ones going to point out the fact that these are The Local Natives? I bet they had an amazing music selection at the reception.
