The Wicked universe is back — and while you can’t stream the new film just yet, you can certainly create a little magic home. Whether you’re hosting a pre-movie hang, rewatching the original before seeing Part 2, or just looking for an excuse to shake up some iconic cocktails, these delicious cakes + drinks are the perfect way to celebrate the return of Glinda and Elphaba.
Jaime Melfi, the multitalented mind behind the event design, wedding coordination, cake artistry, and mixology magic that is Autumn Nomad, wants to help us all get in touch with our inner Witches of Oz. That’s why she teamed up with photographer Emily Delamater to design this dreamy pink + green celebration in the woods full of wild florals, playful bubbles, cozy velvet, and SO many movie-inspired treats.
What you’re about to see is nothing short of swankified, as Fiyero would say. There’s a “Green Elixir” for anyone with enough braverism to get totally greenified. There’s a glittery pink “Bubble Wand” cocktail any Good Witch would adore. There’s even a “Ruby Red”mocktail to help you get ready for all the ruby slipper references in Wicked: For Good.
Jaime created all these lovely libations so YOU can throw an equally spectacular Wicked-inspired fete of your own. “I was trying to do ones that anyone can do and easily make at home,” she says, “with ingredients that are easy to find at most grocery stores.”
And to encourage you all to make these delicious + doable drinks at home, Jaime’s included recipes for everything!! (Including key ingredients like sugared raspberries, mint sugar, and homemade vanilla simple syrup!) We don’t know how we’ll ever express our gratitution.
Oh, and then there are the utterly Ozmopolitan, awe-inspiring cakes to see!!
So, Elphabas: hop on your brooms 🧹. Glindas: climb into your bubbles 🫧. And follow us all the way to Oz!
Setting The Scene

The gorgeous property at Hardy Farm in Fryeburg, Maine made for a perfectly woodsy backdrop! So reminiscent of Elphaba’s forest hideout!

Obsessed with these lush, cozy furniture + decor details from A Family Affair. Those channelled velvet round-back chairs!

Floralia Design Studio created the party’s wild + whimsical florals. So many on-theme deep greens and blush pinks!

Very into the off-beat elegance of these funky gold-rimmed charger plates and the way they capture the quirky fantasy of the Wicked world.

As we all know, when Glinda needs to get where she’s going, she travels by bubble! So when cultivating some serious whimsy for a Wicked get together, a good bubble machine is key.

Also! Pink taper candles and green taper candles in cool bubble-like glass candlesticks (like these from West Elm) are a must!
Elphaba’s “Green Elixir”

What You’ll Need:
- 1 kiwi, peeled and chopped
- 1 oz Midori
- ½ oz lime
- ½ oz coconut milk
- ¼ oz cream of coconut (suggested brand: Coco Real Cream of Coconut)
Rim: mint sugar (recipe below!! 👇🏻💚)
Suggested Glass: 8 oz coup
How To Put It All Together:
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle the kiwi until fully puréed.
- Add Midori, coconut milk, and cream of coconut.
- Add ice and shake vigorously until chilled and creamy.
- Fine strain into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass.
- Garnish with a kiwi slice or edible flower.

For That Mint Sugar Rim:
What You’ll Need:
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup fresh mint leaves, packed
- Optional: ½ tsp lime zest or a drop of mint extract (for extra flavor intensity)
How To Put It All Together:
- Prep the Mint: Wash and thoroughly dry the mint leaves. (Any moisture will cause the sugar to clump.)
- Pulse Together:In a small food processor or spice grinder, add the sugar and mint leaves. Pulse in short bursts until the mint is finely chopped and the sugar is fragrant and lightly green.
- Dry the Sugar: Spread the mint sugar in a thin layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let it air-dry for 1–2 hours, stirring once or twice, until no moisture remains.
- Speed Method: Place in a 175°F (80°C) oven for 10 minutes, then let cool fully.
For An Optional Boost: For stronger flavor, mix in lime zest or 1–2 drops of mint extract after drying.
How To Store: Transfer to an airtight container. It will keep for 1–2 weeks at peak freshness.

To Use Mint Sugar On a Cocktail Rim:
- Pour mint sugar onto a small plate.
- Pour some agave onto a small plate, dip your glass into agave, and coat as much of the rim as you want to cover with your sugar mixture.
- Dip and roll the rim in the sugar to coat.

This glorious green Elphaba-inspired cake!? Utterly exquisite!

Nessarose’s “Red Ruby” Mocktail

What You’ll Need:
- 6–8 fresh raspberries
- ½ oz maple syrup
- ½ oz vanilla syrup (recipe for homemade below! 👇🏻)
- 2 oz cranberry juice
- Ginger Beer (about 3–4 oz)
Suggested Glass: 12 wine glasses
How To Put It All Together:
- In a shaker or mixing glass, muddle raspberries with maple syrup and vanilla syrup until fully broken down.
- Add cranberry juice.
- Add ice and shake lightly to chill.
- Strain into a chilled glass over fresh ice.
- Top with ginger beer for sparkle.
- Garnish with sugared raspberries (recipe below for these, too! 👇🏻)

How to Make the Sugared Raspberries:
- Place 3 raspberries in a small bowl.
- Add 1 tablespoon of simple syrup and gently toss to fully coat the berries.

- Cover the bowl and gently shake until the raspberries are evenly coated.

How To Make the Homemade Vanilla Simple Syrup:
What You’ll Need:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 vanilla bean or 1–2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
If You’re Using Vanilla Bean (hint: this is the key to the best flavor):
- Split the Bean: Slice the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with the back of your knife.
- Heat the Syrup:In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, the scraped seeds, and the pod. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture just begins to simmer.
- Infuse: Remove from heat. Let the syrup steep with the bean pod for 20–30 minutes to deepen the flavor.
- Strain + Store: Remove the pod (you can save it for another batch or to flavor sugar). Pour the syrup into a clean jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for 2–3 weeks.
If You’re Using Vanilla Extract:
- Heat water and sugar until dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in 1–2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
- Cool and store in a clean jar or bottle. Store in the refrigerator for 2–3 weeks.

We are so ready for the final installment of Wicked. And now, thanks to Jaime, we are so ready to plan the perfect Wicked-themed party–Oz-worthy cocktails and all! The only thing left is to see the movie (and of course to sing along). Happy sipping, everybody!
