Lera + Egor have been together for almost nine years. That means nearly a decade of love, of adventure, and of being guests at other people’s weddings. So when it came time to plan their own, they’d seen plenty of examples and knew they wanted to do something ultra-unique for their special day in Voronezh, Russia that nobody had ever experienced before.
Together with event designer Marito Decor Studio and planner Diana of DRUGOE Events they created a whole new aesthetic: cyber-surrealism. Think quirky + colorful AI-inspired dreamscapes, somehow both futuristic + nostalgic at once. Plans to construct a massive and ambitious 3-D art installation at Usadba 12.24 took shape and a soft but funky pastel color palette led the way.
“We were very worried a couple of days before the wedding, when the frantic bustle began and we were preparing the last moments,” Lera + Egor say. “The dress and suit in the final version were ready one day before.”
“But when we saw what the guys did for us, what amazing decorations, how everything was decorated and how beautiful it was and about us, we realized that all the fuss, preparation and worries were not in vain.”
It all came together, down to the last swan statue and tentacle. As planner Diana put it, they created a “wedding day in the couple’s universe that reached the hearts of the guests and celebrated it in an unforgettable way!”
We’ve truly never seen another wedding like this one, so we are beyond excited to show you Pavel Yavnik’s photos of Lera + Egor’s Big Day!

An edgy + experimental wedding design vision definitely calls for some fun wedding nails. Obsessed with the crystals + pastels!

A Cyber-Surrealist Cermony

“The ceremony was created in the form of a large structure,” says planner Diana of this giant zipper-like installation, “where we “unzipped” the couple’s universe, from which the most unexpected creatures and objects began to teleport onto the lawn!”

“There were many objects at the ceremony that are considered ‘portals to different universes’: a window, a TV, big glasses, a boombox, PlayStation joysticks.”

Lera’s look, styled by the multitalented Diana Bondareva of DRUGOE events, included this voluminous asymmetrical Wlasta Garbuzova gown from Tatiana Knyazeva Brand.

“In our search for wedding dresses, we completely trusted our organizer Diana, since the picture of the event was fully formed only in her head,” says the couple. “One interesting thing is that we had to work with an artist to give our images uniqueness.”

Of course, we’re loving these lime green wedding shoes from Steve Madden.

“A scary and at the same time exciting and pleasant moment of the wedding for us was the ceremony and the vows,” say Lera + Egor.

“During the vows, we seemed to pretend not to be serious, with a smile and laughter on our faces, but, believe me, it was very responsible and exciting for us,” Lera remembers. “Especially the moment of handing over the bride’s hand from the father to the groom.”

Our Advice
Dare and don't be afraid of anything. Complete mutual understanding with the organizer and bold thoughts lead to such crazy and unique projects.

The Quirky Outdoor Reception

“The couple’s looks are custom,” remarks Diana. “The artist hand-painted the hem of the bride’s dress and the groom’s vest! We embroidered the bride’s favorite phrase on the dress: I’m not a Disney princess! I’m a real wife!”

This playful pastel caterpillar table setup reminds us of this colorful Regencycore wedding shoot!

Decor choices for the reception tables were divided into three unique + creative categories:

One was “Cosmo-pond” where alien swans and ducks swam on metallic ponds. One was “Lawn gnome party” where gnome figurines made mischief and turned the decor upside down. And one was “Mini-city” where the design recreated everything from the house where the couple lived at the beginning of their relationship to the places where they work.

Bali Party Band was on hand providing plenty of music to dance to, and EffectsShowvrn handled the night’s twinkly and colorful lights.

Snag some adorable hedgehog figurines and paint them pink to create your own quirky pastel garden-inspired tablescapes.

So dazzed by Lera’s shift into this shiny silver long sleeve mini dress for her reception look!

Antonina Cakes created this three tiered, textured, tentacle spectacular of a wedding cake.

Our Favorite Memory
The most memorable moment is the moment when we first saw and entered the decorations of our wedding. We were absolutely delighted! The scale amazed us! And all the relatives and friends were already sitting nearby and impatiently waiting for when they could see what we and the team had done over all these months.
Another really cool moment - the appearance of the cake! It was unforgettable, we had a crazy cake =)) and its appearance at dusk, which was accompanied by special effects - just Wow.

Congratulations, Lera + Egor, on your bold + brilliant “cyber-surrealist” wedding! It was out of this world! All the best from GWS!
