In line with Hannah + Charlie’s Florida roots, they wanted their day to be bright, warm, and laid-back. Their number one priority was that their guests could feel totally relaxed and be present with the bride and groom in whatever way they wanted to be. There aren’t many chances in life where you can be surrounded by friends and family and this couple didn’t take that lightly!
Once they decided on their venue, The Glass Room in Los Angeles, the bride’s sister coined the dress code “tiki-chic,” and that was that! To make sure all their dreams came to life, Pop the Champagne Events took charge of planning H + C’s wedding day. Shindig Chic is to thank for the gorgeous florals and even shared a little bit about what it was like working with bride Hannah:
“Hannah was a true joy to collaborate with. She gave me lots of eclectic inspiration to work from, past creations of mine that she had loved.. and then just sort of said ‘do your thing!’. That always creates the best weddings, in my opinion! She wanted something playful, geometric, and whimsical for the seating chart and we incorporated the lovely logo that her sister had made for their invites. A smaller display with more details is just as fun for guests as an XL display and it tied together so naturally with the amazing design details at Grass Room already.”
Jenny Smith & Co was on site in Downtown LA the entire day to capture all the magic. Let’s check out this pastel paradise!

The bride shared with us how she and her husband met and got together!
“Charlie and I shared mutual friends in college at the University of Florida, but we didn’t officially meet until I was a junior and he was a recent graduate living in my hometown, Tampa, FL. Our first kiss was on New Year’s Eve, January 1st 2016! After many happy years in Tampa and two cats later, we decided to make the move to Los Angeles after we fell in love with the city when we visited my sister and maid of honor, Marion. Charlie proposed the week before we moved at one of our favorite spots, the Don Cesar hotel on Pass-a-grille beach in Florida. I had planned a going away party at my parent’s house the next day, which was actually our surprise engagement party!”

A Wonderful Wedding Party

Since her bridesmaids wore such AMAZING printed tropical dresses, Shindig Chic decided to go with more neutral bouquets to balance things out but still kept it fun with funky florals & dried textures!

We love how the groom leaned into the casual vibe with his fun multi-colored Nikes!
The Intimate Ceremony

The luscious greens acted as a crisp and cool backdrop for H + C to deliver their vows.

“The Grass Room was the one and only venue we toured. There were so many breathtaking details – from the whale mural, wrap-around grotto bar, pink washed Madonna room, and the breeze flowing through the retractable roof, I had never been anywhere quite like it. I truly felt someone recognized the beauty and history of the space and wasn’t afraid to roam free with colors, details, and movement, which turned it into something so unique and exciting. We were also warmly welcomed by the Marvimon team and could immediately tell they knew how to host a flawless event.”

We love a fun wedding koozie!

We have so many favorite moments from the day! After a busy few weeks, time slowed down when Charlie and I were reunited at our first look. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace, comfort, and excitement in that moment when we were free to experience the rest day (and the rest of our lives!) together. Also, after a year and half of planning and dreaming, it was incredible to walk in and see the magic of the design and the atmosphere. From the beautiful flowers and whimsical seating chart by Shindig Chic, to my dads specialty cocktails and moms' cookies - every detail felt so personal. I'll forever remember the love and support I felt from my friends and family and I want to give back to them in any way I can!

Butter Cake Shoppe made the most delicious triple-layered cake covered in the prettiest color fondant!

Cheers to all the years to come!

We’re so inspired by the beautifully meaningful day and sending all our love and congratulations to Hannah + Charlie!
