This Southwestern Meets Bohemian Palm Springs Wedding Was Inspired by a Certain California Boutique…

Intimate Southwestern Desert Wedding

Have you heard of Prism Boutique in Southern California? There’s a good chance you’ve seen some of their gorgeous flatlays + interior shots of the iconic shop while scrolling through IG. Well, today’s bride, Westerly, is a regular there and it quickly became a main source of inspiration while planning her nuptials to Jason. Mackenzie, the event designer at Details, Darling, shares: Westerly + Jason knew they wanted something small and intimate with a bohemian meets Southwestern style. Upon meeting them, we popped into Prism Boutique (where Westerly frequently shops) and that was the epitome of what they wanted.

To create the desert bohemian vibe, the team focused on using natural textiles, locally foraged florals, and funky signage to set the scene. And what better place than The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs to serve as a neutral desert canvas?

Let’s see how they brought a bohemian boutique feeling to the desert in the photos Kaylee Chelsea Photography snapped!

The Ceremony Space

Westerly shares: When we started planning our wedding we knew we wanted a laid-back + fun party-filled weekend with our closest friends and family! We picked Palm Springs for a few reasons. I grew up vacationing there, and we also liked that fact that it felt like a destination wedding, but was close enough for our guest to travel to. It was very important for us to pick a venue that all of our guests could stay at.

The Newlyweds

Intimate Southwestern Desert Wedding

I knew I wanted earthy desert tones, dried florals, and the whole boho bride vibe. We knew we did not want a formal wedding…that’s just not our vibe. Thursday night we opted out of a rehearsal dinner and went to the casino instead. Our ceremony was short and sweet, with a lot of laughs. Just how we wanted. We didn’t have assigned seats, or a cake, or a wedding party. Other than my dog, of course!!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The most memorable moment was taking our sunset desert pictures. We finished the ceremony, got ourselves a drink, and drove with our photographers to the middle of the desert. It was so peaceful and relaxing being out there. Although our photographers were there, it felt like it was just the two of us.

We decided to have a Friday wedding, that way we could relax and enjoy the rest of the weekend with friends and family. We had brunch for everyone Saturday morning with a pool party that followed. I took advantage of the spa amenities and booked myself a massage after brunch. Totally recommend doing that by the way!!
