When deciding where to tie the knot, Carly + Andrew felt the best move was to go back to where it all started.
These two had their very first date at a whiskey bar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and, though they’re based in Los Angeles now, they knew their big day would feel most special back in the New York City neighborhood where they first fell in love.
The vibrant tiki vibes of their celebration at Greenpoint Loft were inspired by the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland. “We loved the colors and lighting,” Carly says, “so we sent images from the Tiki Room to our vendors and had them go from there.” With the help of planner Ashley from Ashley Chamblin Events, the result was this hip and colorful wedding full of bold tiki details and unforgettable florals. And photographer Amy Sims was on the scene to capture it all!

This charming illustrated tiki invitation suite was designed by Esme Blegvad.

A custom hand-painted denim jacket is a great way to commemorate the day and add wedding memories to your wardrobe. Also, how dreamy are Carly’s satin floral mules by Jimmy Choo?! Check out these ivory ones in the same style.

Carly had a classic “Say Yes To The Dress” experience at *the* Kleinfeld in NYC. And the dress she said “yes” to was this chic strapless gown with a high-low hemline by Rebecca Schoneveld! “I knew the second I put the dress on that it was the right one,” Carly says. “I was looking for something with a tea length hem so it was perfect and still had a dramatic train.”
Take a look at these bridal sunglasses if you’re into Carly’s super-hip sunnies like we are. 😎

When it comes to the wedding party, we adore a multicolor moment! Carly sent her bridesmaids the same color palette that the couple’s florist was using and told them each to pick a dress in that range of colors. What a cool and creative bridesmaid gift!!

The Ceremony

See what we mean about the flowers?! This breathtaking hanging installation made of tropical blooms and greenery also functioned as the couple’s chuppah.

Nothing says tiki opulence like cascading orchids.

Setting up your wedding seating in the round is an immersive and non-traditional way to surround yourselves with love on your big day. Take a peek at these creative seating ideas if you’re into doing away with typical rows and aisles like Carly + Andrew did.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding From Carly: "Being walked down the aisle by my parents and seeing the entire crowd dressed in bright colors and waiting to receive the wedding party. We arranged the chairs in the round so I was literally walking into a circle of friends. That and dancing to the awesome dj, trying our cake, and having moments alone together."

These guests all look so coordinated and fab because of Carly + Andrew’s “Tasteful Tiki” dress code.
