“I feel like this is the year of monochrome,” says photographer Jordan Grimes, the artist behind the lens for this sunny + saturated yellow wedding shoot coming to us from North Carolina ☀️💛🌼. Monochrome, single-color design has been taking the wedding world by storm this year for sure, and we here at GWS are loving every single minute of it.
In fact, we’ve seen examples of this marvelous monochrome moment in nearly every shade on the color wheel: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple!
This bright, radiant, citrus-forward palette really has put the biggest smiles on our faces, though. Sunny, yellow serotonin overload. Turns out it was born of a desire to capture the warmth + joy of summertime: “I wanted to lean into a summer color,” photographer Jordan explains, “one that would be fun and bold.”
But it’s not just the devotion to all things yellow that makes this shoot special. The team took an approach to design that was so fundamentally fresh + modern. Planners Georgia & Lindsey of Georgia’s Finest Events led the vendor team in filling New Hill, NC’s The Bradford with “sculptural, art-inspired florals in bold, saturated yellows and deep oranges” which anchored the single-color vision. Then there were all the creative uses of draping + fabric in different textures + shades. And the ways they reimagined the outdoor spaces at The Bradford: so immersive + inventive!
Georgia describes the shoot as “pushing modern luxury into fresh territory with a curated, gallery-like aesthetic that feels intentional and artistic, not merely decorative” and “a cohesive vision that’s warm, vibrant, and distinctly contemporary.”
So, put on your cutest pair of sunnies and cue up some Coldplay, – we hope you enjoy this radiantly romantic yellow monochrome masterpiece as much as we did 😎
A Basque Waist Bridal Look
The shoot’s gorgeous wedding dresses — including this strapless basque waist structured bodice stunner with its billowing skirt — came from both Bride of the Pines and Taylar Made Dresses.
It was Chelsea Regan Hair + Makeup who created every gorgeous look you’ll see, including this slick back messy bun bridal updo and smokey neutral wedding makeup.
