On the coast of the village of Porto Germeno, Greece sit the ruins of an ancient castle: Aigosthenon in West Attica. Boasting the tallest surviving towers of ancient Greece, the castle grounds offer a beautiful + mystical setting that takes you through time to a place as mysterious as it is romantic. It is here where the team behind today’s editorial found inspiration to design a day worthy of the stories that once went before. With design by Sensyle Event, the vision unfolded:
We immediately visualized pictures of a bohemian bride surrounded by colors that would harmoniously underline this unique setting. When it came to choosing the colors, we instinctively chose the navy + dusty blue of the sea combined with the green of the olive groves, the stone-gray of the castle walls, and burgundy to intensify our palette. Our main goal was to affiliate the aura and translate the architecture of the ancient castle walls reaching the sea. We achieved that by using only natural materials that match the landscape and by designing outstanding flower arrangements.
Wed Pashalis Photography was on hand to capture every dreamy detail. Let’s have a look!
Straights out of the gate: this bouquet by Comme ça is a vision!
Ceremony by the Sea
WOW. How stunning is this set up?!
Boho Bride + Groom
Her gorgeous headpiece, his rad windowpane suit—SO loving this!

Dreaming of a Grecian getaway and wondering who to call on for hair + makeup? Frantzeska Make Up & Hair is behind the bride’s beautiful classic look!
The Sweetheart Table
The team used wooden pallets to compliment the natural elements and chose blue tableware, aged gold cutlery, polyhedron vases, and oil lamps to complete the look.
The linens were used as a canvas for the couple’s vows!
The Crocheted Wedding Dress
The bride’s crochet-topped, vintage-inspired gown is by Greek bridal house, Atelier Zolotas.
In addition to the sweetheart table, the team set up this super-cute coffee + whiskey station, flanked by sweets by Slim Bites!
Among the Ancient Grounds
This amazing structure was actually a former chapel in ancient Greece! The team was inspired by the deep red-brown color of the door and formed a gorgeous vignette to highlight the tones.
So stunning! And if you’re dreaming of a wedding on castle grounds, check out our roundup of dreamy castles around the world!
