She’s an art therapist and he’s a professional musician—two creatives who found each other and married in the mountains. If it sounds romantic, it’s ’cause it is…and thankfully, we have the photos to prove it! Their dream day unfolded with an emotional and sweet ceremony, followed by an epically gorgeous reception in a farmhouse. Here’s the inspiration behind the day from Joey + JT:
We are both artists in some capacity so we had lots of ideas about how we wanted things to be and look. But it became obvious pretty quickly that if we actually wanted to enjoy our wedding we had to let other people do some of the work. We focused on a few visual elements that really felt important to us, like the site of our actual ceremony and the table decor, and then trusted other people to do an awesome job on the other stuff (which they did). The things that we worked on ourselves were all either handmade or reclaimed/secondhand which suited our artsy-rustic aesthetic. But probably most importantly, our wedding felt like ours because we wrote our own vows with a lot of love and honesty, included some of our favorite poetry in the ceremony, and had a truly amazing friend officiate.
Lev Kuperman Photography was on hand to capture ever meaningful details. Let’s have a look!
Husband + Wife-To-Be
The bride looked every bit the classic beauty with a boho twist in a gorgeous Rebecca Schoneveld halter dress and floral crown.
The Handmade Ceremony
How darling are these handmade tassel and pompom garlands?!
These two—so adorable!
And the pup fell asleep during the ceremony!
Wow. So obsessed with this sweet photo!
Newlyweds on the Lake
The wildflower bouquet by Catskill Flower Shop was the perfect whimsical touch.
Dancing to our first song one more time at the very end of the night once the barn was completely empty.
The Whimsical Reception
WOW. This reception space is a dream!
Loving these painted table runners! Such a great mix of rustic and whimsy.
The most perfect woodsy cake to end the evening! We’re totally smitten with this dreamy day—many congrats to the happy couple!
