Desert views for miles and miles! Skyhouse Joshua Tree has to be one of the most gorgeous venues for a Joshua Tree wedding. Gina and Joel both love the magical wide open spaces of this landscape, so they knew it was the perfect place for their “I Do’s”. Desert Rose Wedding Co. helped them plan a micro wedding centered around fun, celebration, and most importantly, dancing. In fact, the day featured a surprise flash dance party down the aisle plus rhinestone bridal booties, and open air dining as the sun set. G shares more about how they found the perfect venue:
We were on the fence about having a wedding and the deciding factor was that we realized we wanted to celebrate all the special people in our life that helped us get to where we are. From that moment on, the plan was to host a really fun party where people could enjoy quality time together, celebrate love and boogie their hearts out on the dance floor. We’re from Arizona and have had some special experiences in Joshua Tree so the high desert felt like the perfect location. Since the whole event was going to be outside, we coordinated our date with the full moon so we’d have a bright night sky for the festivities.
Lex and the Lotus Photography captured some seriously jaw-dropping photos. Scroll along with us and let’s take a look!

Loving that minimalist geometric ceremony backdrop up against that view! G + J love the desert, so this is perfection!
Surprise Dance Party
Oh boy, this is a tough one, because the whole day (and the whole weekend) was the best of our entire lives, as cliche as that sounds, but if I had to pick one moment, it would be when the surprise dance party started as I walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of Florence and the Machine’s ‘Dog Days are Over.’ All of our friends and family were in on it and it was a surprise to Joel. He danced along, with the most joyful smile and tears in his eyes as I made my way to him. The nonstop dance party was also pretty epic, between my dad on the mic, DJ Joe on the roaming saxophone, a friend’s grandma’s wig landing on almost everyone’s head at one point, an outfit swap between our officiant and one of our awesome friends, and us getting lifted into the air on the shoulders of some of our best pals for the last song of the night, it was truly the party of a lifetime.
Cactus Flower designed with pale peach blooms and pampas grass to highlight the more muted tones of the landscape.
Enjoy the process of planning and stay close to what you are celebrating - the love, commitment, and partnership between two people. Let it be about bringing people together to experience joy and to witness love in action. And also get to know your vendors, they help you bring your vision to life, and vibing with them helps to create a seamless experience.
Reception With a View
Planks and Patina provided all furniture rentals for the day. G + J chose neutral colors and natural materials like wicker and wood so that they didn’t distract from the Joshua Tree atmosphere. Everything was selected with that intention in mind.
Joe Cardillo played music all night long for these boogie lovers!
Processional: an instrumental version of ‘Dog Days are Over’ by Florence and the Machine

Joshua Tree Wedding
These Betsey Johnson rhinestone bridal booties were made for walking down the aisle! We’re big fans of bridal boots here at GWS.

Such a stunning venue! The mirrors reflect the desert landscape so beautifully. We understand why you chose this place for your vows, Gina + Joel! The GWS Team is wishing you both all that married life has to offer. (Loads of late night dance parties included!)
