This Relaxed Bohemian Desert Wedding in Nevada Is What Dreams Are Made Of!

Boho Dream Desert Nevada Wedding

From the beautiful desert canvas to the mountains, sunset, and the white vintage ’67 Cadillac, Daisy + Ron’s nuptials definitely stand out from the crowd! The vision for the day revolved around what Daisy liked to call “A Bohemian Dream” and thanks to Elopement Las Vegas, their dreams became reality.

When Daisy and Ron envisioned their wedding, they thought of a desert, sunsets, pampas grass, and soft, beautiful flowers – which were perfectly executed by florist Amy Wong. Daisy envisioned pulling up to the altar in a white, vintage Cadillac (which she also did!!). The color theme included dusty rose, blush, nude, and pops of gold – they wanted it to feel relaxing but not overly glamorous.

Lauren Louise Collective expertly captured this bohemian dream wedding at the El Dorado Dry Lake Bed in Boulder City, Nevada. Ready to check it out?

Let The Day Begin

This bride is absolutely gorgeous! Daisy wore the Peony With Tulle Bows gown by Emmy Mae. She shares with us what slipping on that gown on her wedding day was like:

“My mom unexpectedly passed away 8 years ago, and the void from her death really hit me as we were getting closer to the wedding date. On the actual wedding day, I asked my aunt, great-aunt, Ron’s stepmother, and Ron’s sister to help me put on my wedding dress, overskirt, veil, and shoes. I had already put on the dress, unzipped, when they came into the penthouse bedroom. Everyone got emotional as soon as they saw me in the dress, and we tried to hold back our tears, but the moment was too special and too raw to not cry!”

What a lovely group of ladies in their matching bridesmaid robes! The exact ones worn in this photo are by Camellia And Love.

First look….girl’s edition!!! Groom Ron did not want to do a first look, as he wanted to see Daisy for the first time at the ceremony. Therefore, the bride did a first look with her bridal party. Most of them had not seen the dress, so they were completely surprised! The bride shares there was lots of happy tears!

The couple left seats open for the loved ones that were no longer with them physically, but always with them in their hearts.

“We are both fans of 80’s and 90’s music, especially R&B. Ron walked down to “I Knew I Loved You” by Savage Garden, which is a tear jerker for us. The bridal party walked down the aisle to “Happily Ever After” by Case, which is the song that was playing when Ron proposed to me. I walked down to “While We’re Young” by Jhene Aiko – it literally described my feelings for Ron.”

The moment I stepped out of the ’67 white Cadillac with my brother on my right side, I remember seeing Ron at the end of the aisle, where he was already in tears. As my brother and I walked down the aisle, it felt like the only person I could see was Ron. He also felt the same way.”

The Sweetest Love Story

Boho Dream Desert Nevada Wedding

Daisy and Ron grew up within one mile from one another and attended the same middle and high school. They also shared a few mutual friends and knew of one another, but they never connected until many years later.

Ron lost his mother in 2012, and Daisy lost her mother in 2014. Ron would often reach out to Daisy to offer positive words of encouragement while she was mourning the loss of her mom. He would also reach out on birthdays as well. In 2018, Daisy and Ron became friends and would communicate on a regular basis.

On Christmas Day 2018, Ron expressed his interest in getting to know Daisy as more than a friend. Their first date was at Hot N Juicy, as they both loved a good seafood boil! The rest is history. Both Daisy and Ron knew on the first date that this was it. This was the last stop – he was the one for her, and she was the one for him.

The Proposal

On March 7, 2020, Ron planned a date at an escape room for Daisy. They spent 45 minutes in the most challenging room, trying to unlock clues in order to “escape” the room. Unbeknownst to Daisy, while they were in the room, their friends and family were in a private party room next door setting up for the proposal. Once the 45 minutes were up, the host explained how they could have escaped from the room, and then offered to take pictures of Daisy and Ron in the photo area. As they were walking to the photo area, Daisy heard one of her favorite songs “Happily Ever After” by Case. She walked into a room with 40 of their closest family and friends, and a rose-covered, candlelit altar in memory of their mothers. And, when Ron dropped down on one knee to ask Daisy to marry him, the answer was definitely “YEAH”!

Here’s a fun fact! The initial wedding was not supposed to be a desert wedding. Initially, Daisy and Ron planned to get married at the rooftop suite of a luxury hotel in DC. Unfortunately, the venue was sold in August of 2021, so they were on the hunt for a new venue…

Daisy and Ron were already going to go to Vegas for their bachelor/bachelorette parties in May, so, one day, Daisy asked Ron how he felt about getting married in Vegas. They knew it would be a pretty big undertaking, and they slept on the idea for weeks. Finally, they decided to go for it, and are so happy about that choice! Their initial DC-based photographer (Lauren Louise Collective) and videographer (Paperboys Films) were available to shoot the wedding at the new location.

“All of the stars aligned perfectly! Looking back, we wouldn’t have wanted this wedding any other way. It was absolutely breathtaking!”

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

The "Somethings": For "Something Old", my aunt gave me a brooch that was my mother's; I placed the brooch on the left hip of my wedding dress. My wedding band that I received at the altar was my "Something New". Ron's cousin presented me with the "Something Borrowed"; it was a gold bracelet that Ron's late mother gave to her as an 18th birthday present. Lastly, my "Something Blue" was my garter that was given to me by one of my Matrons of Honor.

Opening the gifts: Ron and I bought five gifts for each other that we opened before the ceremony. The gifts had to be in the following categories: Your favorite drink, your favorite snack, your favorite color, something that reminds me of you, and something that we can do together. How funny was it that we ended up both getting each other tickets to see Kevin Hart on tour??

Take a Seat for the Reception

The couple wanted to made sure their guests also had a great time that day so they booked a party bus to pick up guests to take them to the ceremony location at the Dry Lake Bed, and then transported them to the reception dinner, which was at Smith and Wollensky in the Venetian. From the party bus to the reception, their guests drank, danced, ate, and sang along with every 90’s R&B song.
