I just love this intimate wedding photographer Kelty of Steep Street is sharing with us today. Katie + Nate were married at the Headlands Center for the Arts, in Marin, CA. They wanted their wedding to feel personal, cozy and intimate and I think their day is a perfect collection of all three. :)
Really love the feathers they hung from the ceiling!
Most memorable moment of your wedding day? The ceremony, definitely. I had no idea that Nate had composed a song to include as part of his vows. I was totally dumbstruck when he whipped out a mandolin and began to play. Just being able to share the moment with the people we love was beyond words. Awww – how sweet is that??!
Any advice for those planning now? Inevitably there will be things (some big, some small) that won’t go your way. We found out a month before our wedding that one of our bigger decor ideas was shot down by the venue. At first I was really upset and afraid it would take away from the day. But in the end, we just went with it and adjusted our original “vision.” And now I couldn’t imagine things having been any different then the were. Also, delegate, delegate, delegate!! It was actually a lot of fun to have had our friends and family involved in so many of the details. Remember to stay true to yourselves and keep the day as personal as possible.
