You probably already know this, but here at GWS we’re big on graphic design and all the genius ideas that graphic designers come up with… When we found out that today’s bride, Dara, is a graphic designer, we weren’t surprised one bit! Dara + Chad’s wedding was filled with the most aesthetically pleasing design elements, from an ombré pink bridal party to custom paper goods designed by the bride.
Emily at Anna Delores Photography shares: Dara is a graphic designer and did the invitations and signage herself (LOVE). Her designs set the tone for the whole day with pops of coral and mellow, modern tropical vibes. She also designed playing cards for guests to take home as favors (featuring the couple’s dog, Otis, on the joker card!).
Let’s head out to Colony 29 in Palm Springs and see all the magic designer Wild Heart Events created!
The Details
Dara Weinberg, you are a creative genius. This is the prettiest pink invitation suite!!
Those darling shoes are by none other than Loeffler Randall.
And that gown!! We adore this speckled Dan Jones masterpiece.
Doesn’t Chad look dapper in his blue suit from Paul Smith? Want to see more fun ties? Check out our GWS x The Tie Bar collection!
We have three! First was the first look. We were both so nervous while getting ready, but once we saw each other we were instantly able to relax and start having fun. The second was the ceremony. Each of our childhood best friends co-officiated—it felt so warm and filled with levity. We were all cracking up and crying. The third was a moment in the middle of one of the speeches, when Scott, our co-officiant, suddenly pulled out Chad’s letterman jacket from middle school that he’d been storing in his basement for 20 years and gave it to me.
Aren’t they adorable?
How’s that for a blushing beauty of a bouquet?
The Ceremony Space
Have you ever seen such a dazzling design for the chuppah? Well done with the textured florals, Going Steady Studios!!

The Wedding Party
All that color!
We are LOVING those ombré pink hues!!
It was really important to us that the day be filled with laughter and family + friends coming together, so a lot of the decisions we made were about facilitating that—like leaning heavily into the cocktail hour and music choices, and choosing a venue where our immediate families and some of the wedding party could stay with us on-site.
While looking for vendors, personality is really important. Across the board, everyone from our planner to the florist, photographer, videographer, caterer, DJ, and printer had personalities and styles that we completely clicked with, which made everything feel so smooth on the day. Our other biggest piece of advice is to try to take several moments throughout the day to stop and take everything in. All your favorite people are together in a room, and it can feel like it passes by in a flash —those mental snapshots are the best.
The Modern Reception
OBSESSED with this signage!! And this, my friends, is the magic that happens when a graphic designer plans a wedding.
How awesome is that tent set-up, especially with all the hanging lights?! The space came together with the prettiest pieces from Town & Country Event Rentals. For more ideas, check out these 15 Magical Tent Decor Ideas for an Outdoor Wedding!
We tried not to get caught up in traditions or expectations that didn’t resonate with us, and to put our own spin on the ones that did. For dessert, we had ice cream sandwiches and a mini cookie table—which is a Pittsburgh wedding tradition—as a nod to Chad’s family.
I had a lot of fun designing the paper goods and signage, including a deck of playing cards as favors, featuring our dog Otis as the Joker. We also dyed and block printed our napkins and lounge area pillows (a labor of possibly overzealous love made possible with the help of some extremely patient and determined pals).
And be sure to check out their sweet wedding film by Grimace Films below…
