“Anything but ordinary” was the goal when this creative couple set out to plan their Toronto wedding.
You could say the two are design-minded: Robyn’s an event designer and Fredo’s a business director at a design studio. So having a vision for their day came easy.
On top of that, they’re super comfy in the wedding world. Together they own and operate Tipsy Turny Trailer – a 1977 Sunline Trailer named “Toby” that the couple transformed into a mobile bar used for events and weddings all over Toronto and Southern Ontario. When it came time to pull together their own special day, Robyn + Fredo sprung into action. The couple dreamed up and fabricated everything themselves to really make the most of all the creative details. And as a result the wedding they created perfectly captured the zany, colorful romance these two share.
A good way to describe the vibe? “Pee-wee’s Playhouse meets a Guy Fieri shirt…but make it a wedding.”
The dress code was a joyful and cheeky “Wear whatever the f*** you want!”
And, lucky for us, Rachel Hunt Photography was there to capture all the excitement.
A Fiery Invitation Suite

Inventive bride Robyn designed all of the invitations and wedding signage herself!

Narcissus and Echo Florals added rich, vibrant blooms to the eclectic day.

Wedding Day Style

Who’s the designer behind this perfect, festive short pink dress? The groom’s mom! Robyn had a vision of all things flouncy, poofy, and corseted. She snagged some fabric at a local shop, and Fredo’s mom made it happen.

The groom rocked a custom green suit inspired by the green parti sapphire ring he proposed with!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding Our favourite memory of the day was the first look and the first dance. We had always thought the first dance would feel awkward but it was the most magical moment. We felt like we were the only people in the room.

And the pink headband and orange veil combo? Those are the handiwork of the bride herself. We definitely love the trend of a more unique veil for the wedding day!

Inked!

“Roybn” + “Ferdo” marked the occasion with matching flaming heart tattoos of each other’s misspelled names.

This Ceremony Is 🔥

The bride and groom designed, built, and painted this killer orange flame backdrop for the ceremony and brought some heat to their warehouse-style Toronto venue, Messy House.
More pink and orange floral brilliance from Narcissus and Echo.

Why stick to the standard script? When the knot was tied, these two were pronounced “bitches and babes!”

How fun is this custom temporary tattoo bar?

Day-of coordinator Plan With Laura Co. helped all of Robyn + Fredo’s perfect details come together smoothly.

The couple’s mobile bar events business Tipsy Turny Trailer was a vital part of the big day!

Rolling With It

Robyn + Fredo pushed pause on the celebration when a relative had a health scare mid-wedding. Once it was clear that everybody was okay, the firefighters who responded to the emergency call stuck around for pictures!

2 Cakes are Better Than 1

The brilliant bakers at Kwento are responsible for this piping masterpiece of a wedding cake. They paired it with a custom birthday cake for the groom (complete with a sneaky Smirnoff Ice hidden inside) since the big day was his 30th birthday as well!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now DO WHATEVER YOU WANT! We tried so hard to be unapologetically ourselves because this was our day. Also, get a planner! Even though we work in the industry, the emotions run high at this time and you need to pass off the stress.

These two did it all their own way. And it was STUNNING. Congratulations, Robyn + Fredo!! GWS wishes you the absolute best!
