Sara + Otis met in Austin, Texas, where he was going to school for Metal Arts and she was studying Pastry Arts. Needless to say, they’re both extremely creative and have a passion for all things artistic + unique. So, when it came time for their vows — Otis designed the altar they got married under, and even foraged for different flowers + vines that represented their relationship. Doesn’t get more personal than that, right?
Sara shares: Our inspiration was based off of all the things we love. Texas plants, tequila, bare-foot dancing, the full moon, camping, good food, good music and vintage everything! We chose the Wildflower Center because of our love for nature and wildlife. Not to mention it is an absolutely beautiful venue with a large family lawn where we had our reception under the stars and a full moon. They also have fields of wildflowers and waterfalls.

Aren’t these cactus + wildflower details done by Alisa Marrow of Percolator Press absolutely darling?

The Vows
Even though the day seemed like a whirlwind... we both agreed that some of our most memorable moments were seeing each other for the first time that day and finally getting to see our vision all put together. Otis is a total hopeless romantic and he says he still can't get over seeing me walk down the aisle. It was like a fairytale.
Such a gorgeous arch, especially how it complements the surrounding scenery…
The Newlyweds
Remi + Gold absolutely nailed the blooming bouquets for the day!
Can’t take your eyes off of Sara’s gown? It’s by Sachin and Babi.
My advice for brides planning now would be to be BOLD and don't worry about what other people think. At the end of the day, it's your day! Especially if you're an artist, no one is really going to understand your vision until they see it for themselves. So, if someone thinks your ideas are too out there or a little crazy, it's ok. Do what makes you happy!
The Rockin’ Reception
After the ceremony, we walked onto the grass lawn filled with all our family and friends who were waiting to congratulate us. The sun was just going down and there were café lights hung across the lawn. It reminded us of one of our favorite movies, Big Fish.
One of our favorite keepsakes is our “guest guitar” we had people sign. Otis is also a musician, so we have tons of musical instruments in our home and we thought it would be only fitting to have guests sign a guitar, instead of a book. It’s now hanging in our entryway and I love it so much.
Since Sara studied Pastry Arts, they *had* to have a table brimming with confectionary delights! All the desserts were made by Sara’s friend, Mary Louise Butters (who has been featured on Rachel Ray!).

You belong among the wildflowers… doesn’t this reception under the twinkling lights look like an absolute dream?!
