For those that love all things moody, with a dash of elegance, a touch of leather, and a whole lot of velvet — have we got a treat for you! Coming to us from the streets (and a cool warehouse event space, Block 41) in Seattle is today’s eclectic and modern wedding inspiration!
Erin of Yay! Parties & Co. shares: This styled shoot embodies a bride and groom that have eclectic tastes but are also lured by the clean, the modern, and even the romantic. They take risks with patterns and textures. A mix of leather, velvet and wood show their love for the natural; while copper and concrete bring a hint of an industrial edge. They might be called bohemian, but still embrace the elegant – never overdone.
Intrigued? So were we! Let’s see the snaps taken by Tiarra Sorte Photography!
Keeping things modern with earthy tones and tones of leather accents, The Fancy Cat Studio crafted this cool invitation suite with watercolor touches (and wrapped in leather).
The Details
Hello, pretty!! Dig this vintage-inspired T. Anthony Jewelers design? Us too!
And then… there were the rosy pink velvet Ted Baker shoes. Um, heart eyes, anyone?!
Playing up the bride’s natural beauty, Yessie Libby created one sultry cat eye.
With stunning capture of shadows and light, velvet and lace, old and new…we hoped to tell the story of changing seasons, winter to spring. And a bride and groom that are trendy but appreciate timeless elements and style.
The Florals
When it came to florals, Teressa Johnson Studio was all about the textures: pampas grass, dried leafy greens, and an antique-hued flowers.
For the groom: a dark brown suit with a touch of wine red from ASOS, and velvet bow tie!
For the bride: an all-lace wedding dress with a long train by Anais Anette, from a&bé Bridal Shop – Seattle.
The Lounge
Located in the heart of Belltown, the impeccably renovated 1927 former ice warehouse combines the best of old and new – massive old growth timber, exposed brick walls, and vintage car decking merge gracefully with blackened steel, leather column wraps, and state-of-the-art building systems. Perfectly referencing the elements of this editorial!
Playing off of the “old meets new” idea, tons of metallic details of rose gold and copper were seen throughout.
The Tablescape
Just you wait until you see a close up of the textures…
YUP! Like that. Napkins tied with small leather accents + calligraphy from The Fancy Cat Studio complemented the copper utensils from Pedersen’s.
Aren’t those rosy pink hues absolutely divine?!

Running with the modern and minimal theme, Baked Seattle crafted this rectangular cake with copper detailing.
Greetings from Seattle
When in Seattle, you’ve got to explore the scenery, right?!
Too cool, too cool.
A huge thank you to the genius team behind this modern wedding inspiration! We love the twist on vintage-inspired elements and breathing a new life into them.
