If you climb the hills above Los Angeles, in Topanga Canyon, you’ll find a rainbow! Or at least today you’ll find a rainbow in this rad wedding at The Mountain Mermaid. Venice Beach natives, Jamie + Blake got married at this horticultural retreat + historic California landmark. With help from their planning + floral team at Events By Gazala, J + B put on a rockin’ rainbow wedding from start to finish!
The bride, Jamie, shares inspiration for the day: We aimed for a modern Marvelous Mrs Maisel, season 1, monochrome color scheme for the bridesmaids. And The Mountain Mermaid venue was a huge influencing contributor to the vibe and decor. We wanted something retro, yet modern; and the perfect mixture of traditional and non traditional. Chic, classy + casual.

What’s more fun than temporary tattoos?
We made the wedding about the two of us with our written vows, having our pups in the ceremony, the music, temporary tattoos, birdcage of photos, and the memorial table for our fathers.
J wore a timeless vintage gown from the 1930’s, with its original silk + lace. She dynamically paired her wedding dress with powder blue studded heels. Her cool bridal look was topped off with a DIY daisy veil. If you’re feeling the flower veil like we are, check this out!

The ceremony was our favorite, and most special, part of the day. Also, my Mom sang as we danced our first dance; and another incredibly special moment was my brother giving me away.

The overgrown tropical foliage is built-in organic decor for this rainbow wedding ceremony. And don’t think we didn’t notice the monochrome gray gang on the groom’s side! Love it.
