We have been loving all the floral trends happening in the wedding industry this year so it should be no surprise we’re back with another flower-themed DIY for you! We’ve done bouquets, earrings, floral hats, and now….(drumroll) we’re bringing you a custom veil! For that little bit of extra flare to your wedding day look, this one will make all the heads turn as you come down the aisle.
For this DIY, we partnered with our favorite, Afloral, again. With an amazing selection of silk flowers and accessories to complete your project, you can easily find anything your heart desires. Let’s see how you can make this veil for yourself…
What You’ll Need:
• Silk flowers AFloral – we used a selection of larger flowers for the top and small flowers for the bottom like: Dahlia, ranunculus, poppy, peony and cherry blossoms.
• Bridal comb
• Hot glue gun

*A note on the flower selection: make sure if you pick larger/heavier flowers that these will need to be used for the top portion of your veil only. The veil fabric is light so choosing smaller flowers will help the veil not to tug at your head during your wedding or event.
Before you begin, make sure you have followed the steps from our dip-dyed veil. You’ll need to create the veil by gathering and hand sewing your fabric to the bridal comb (minus the dye). Once you’ve made the basic veil, you can head on down to step 1 of this DIY…
Start by cutting the heads of each flower you’d like to use so that they are easy to glue down to your fabric. We wanted a few bigger flowers at the base of our comb, so we glued those on first. After getting your top flowers secured, start placing smaller/lighter flowers down the veil. You can get away with a few medium-weight flowers in the middle (like ranunculus). This part is really at your discretion, but there are a lot of different color patterns and styles you can use in this process! Ombre would be super pretty too, right?!
