Liz + Colin tied the knot at The Foundry in Long Island City, Queens, with stunning views of Manhattan’s skyscrapers just across the East River. The venue, built in the 19th century, was once home to all kinds of manufacturing. The space’s exposed brick, beams, and skylights tell the story of its past life as a factory, and the exterior’s covered with crawling ivy.
With the help of planners from Two Kindred Event Planners, the couple decided to celebrate The Foundry’s modern, industrial vibes by counterbalancing with a floral design and color palette that brought all kinds of ethereal whimsy and romance. Light pinks and whites. Roses. Tons of baby’s breath.
And then, with this gorgeous aesthetic concept in place, Liz + Colin worked in tons of fun and thoughtful details to make the celebration their own. “I think it truly reflected who both Colin and I are as individuals and who we are as a couple,” says bride Liz. “We’re playful, fun, lighthearted and compassionate people. We’re big on attention to detail, so even the smallest details mattered to us – from textures to fabrics to color hues, we wanted it to visually look beautiful with a soft and airy aesthetic but also feel down to earth and welcoming.”
They absolutely succeeded, and we’ve got Chellise Michael Photography’s beautiful cinematic shots to prove it!

Liz’s high-heeled bridal Crocs by Balenciaga CANNOT be topped.

Liz’s goal when she went to Kleinfeld Bridal in search of her own ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ moment? She wanted to find something that was romantic and yet comfortable at the same time. This plunge-neckline lace and tulle stunner by Martina Liana checked both of those boxes! We love the multi-layered look of that beautiful full skirt!
We know those bridal crocs made an appearance later in the evening, but bridal Liz accessorized this wedding gown with a sparkly pair of Bottega Veneta heels.
The First Look

Those glamorous curls!! All thanks to Willow House Beauty, along with Liz’s rosy makeup look.

Our Musical Choices Processional: "What Dreams Are Made Of" from The Lizzie McGuire Movie (string quartet)
Recessional: "Congratulations" by Post Malone (string quartet)
First Dance: "Baby I'm Yours" by The Arctic Monkeys

The Foundry has guest starred on tons of TV shows that shoot in NYC. You might recognize it from episodes of 30 Rock, Sex & The City, Top Chef, Gossip Girl, and The Blacklist.🌟

Our Advice To Those Planning Now Make wedding day detail choices that feel true to who you are as a couple, rather than feeling the urge to get caught up in trends. Small details can sometimes have a bigger impact than big elaborate details. Make time to step aside and enjoy a few minutes alone together as a couple. Prioritize self care during the planning process!!!

The Reception

“It’s hard to pick just one showstopper of the day,” says Meryl, owner and lead designer at the wedding’s signage and paper goods vendor, Jubilee Paper. “But the florals by Buds of Brooklyn are at the top of the list. The couple wanted ethereal, cloud-like florals that were playful yet elevated, and the floral design was exactly that. The hanging florals in the reception space created a wow moment for guests, and the floral columns in the ceremony space were full of textural interest and framed the vows perfectly.”

Pink tinted glassware adding so much subtle romance.

Jubilee Paper really did nail the vibe with the paper goods and signage they created. So into these rough cut solid stone table numbers.

Broadway Party Rentals was behind this sleek, all-white reception furniture.

Celebrating with Crocs

Bride Liz’s career involves a substantial social media presence, and around the time of the wedding she was partnering with Crocs. Having the iconically comfy footwear around at the wedding just made sense! How great is this basket full of Crocs’ Classic Clog in White so guests could dance the night away?

There they are again 🤍 Stilettos + Crocs = the best of both worlds.

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding From Liz: "We had so many amazing moments, from having a Mr. Softee truck arrive during dessert to represent our love story of meeting in New York City to surprising our guests with Crocs to wear during the reception. But honestly, my most memorable moment was taking a few minutes by ourselves to sit and be away from everyone else to just reflect on the day and really take it all in, together as husband and wife."

We ADORE a festive, feathery second look!! Liz looks gorgeous in the Mademoiselle Bridal Mini Dress from Bronx and Banco.

ALWAYS say yes to embellished elbow-length gloves! Liz’s feather-detailed pair echoed the feathers on her reception dress. Check out our favorite reception dresses and our guide to bridal gloves if you need some extra guidance recreating Liz’s look!

And a Mister Softee truck to end the night. A perfectly sweet NYC send off.
Congratulations, Liz + Colin!! Your LIC wedding day was full of romance and whimsy! Best wishes from GWS!!
