Destination weddings are always exciting, especially when they take on a boho twist! This couple took things up a notch by not only getting married in Los Cabos, but doing so at a stunning mango grove. Flora Farms was the dream venue for the Mexican destination wedding of Vanessa and Phil – a free-spirited couple with a taste for the non-traditional.
Though they hail from different parts of the U.S, the couple has a shared love of the gorgeous landscape of Mexico, its language, and its culture. Phillip was raised in California, and as a result, he grew up visiting Cabo often. And though Vanessa is from the Midwest, she fell in love with the Spanish language, so much so that she made it her minor in college. Having a destination wedding in Mexico was a no-brainer! Details were the name of the game when it came to planning their nuptials. Contrasting colors, textures, and mixing bohemian elements with a modern flare were key in representing their love and uniqueness as a couple. Read on to see how their wedding planner and designer, Fátima Falcón, made this all possible!
Cabo is a place that’s near and dear to our hearts, and we’ve both always wanted a destination wedding. And when we went to Flora Farms for a site tour, (it was our first site tour of 4 for the day) we canceled the rest. We knew immediately Flora Farms was the place. And to bring all our friends and family to Cabo, and Flora Farms was ABOUT US. None of this would’ve been possible without our amazing planner Fátima Falcón”-Phil
Their wedding planner, Fátima Falcón of Momentos Weddings & Events, absolutely nailed bringing their design dreams to life. As a native of Mexico, Fátima was able to find Vanessa and Phil the most talented and specialized local vendors in Los Cabos – something that was extremely important to the couple. Photographer Julieta Amezcua, perfected the bohemian look the couple wanted to showcase through photos that will last them a lifetime.
Location, Location, Location!
Flora Farms in Los Cabos served as an idyllic backdrop for this Mexican destination wedding. This stunning organic farm-to-table restaurant is nestled in the Sierra de La Laguna Mountains. The perfect setting for this out-of-the-box couple!
Each little detail highlights the care that went into this event – even down to the groom’s suit!
The most memorable moment was the first look. Getting to see Phil’s reaction and his pure emotion was the most unforgettable feeling I’ll never forget.
You can feel the romance through this photo! Between the expertly designed pampas grass, multicolored petals, layered rugs, and structured wooden frame, this ceremony arch is crafted to perfection.

Instead of flowers, the colorful carpets lining the aisle are the show-stopping piece leading up to the altar.
A Wedding Wardrobe Worth Fawning Over
This loving exchange between the bridal party gets us every time! The mismatched wedding dresses played perfectly into the carefree theme, and the stunning bouquets by Baja Botanica complemented the organic feel of this Mexican destination wedding just right.

You just can’t help but smile witnessing Vanessa and Phil’s joy after saying “I Do”!
We loved conceptualizing this wedding and taking the boho trend to another level. The work of experimentation that has to be done to conceive an event this cool sometimes goes beyond weddings, it is about finding inspiration in other sources and, of course, in the same history of the couple, in their style of life and its tastes.
Mirrored escort cards lining the brick wall added an unexpected modern touch, coupled with fluffy pampas grass florals by Baja Botanica.
A Warm and Earthy Reception to Party All Night Long
Tones of terracotta and diverse textures perfectly represent the feel of the Mexican landscape.
Get that planner. Give yourself peace of mind knowing you have a partner in all of the craziness (especially for destination weddings!!). I don’t know what I would have done without my planner, Fátima Falcon, with having to postpone due to COVID, coordinating with all of the vendors with language barriers, getting access to the best team possible all due to her, all of the issues and challenges she helped take on when she didn’t need to, I could go on and on!!
The guests were able to eat, drink, and celebrate under the glow of twinkle lights and festive projected florals.
And be sure not to miss the film below by Hart Cinema!
Congratulations Vanessa + Phil! Your stunning Mexican destination wedding is a perfect testament to your one-of-a-kind love, and inspires us all at GWS!
