There’s no limit of inspiration you could draw from the Grass Room in Los Angeles. This building has lived many lives in its century of use; as a fish + oyster company, an ice cream factory, and a commercial site for far east imports. This quirky history, along with their mutual love for ocean tide pools, is what ultimately led Christina + Shmuel to choose this whimsical wedding venue.
Christina shares a bit about their wedding planning vision: We both love the ocean and tide pooling. At the same time, we wanted our wedding to feel magical and light-hearted. I found some inspirational photos and sent them to Inessa, our florist, and told her to be creative!
And magical it is! The planning + design talents at Feathered Arrow helped C + S celebrate their colorful wedding with dried floral elements, exotic fruit + thoughtful decor. A mystical wedding from start to finish!
Hannah Costello captured this rad rainbow day – let’s dive in:
Whimsical Invites
Wild + fun paper goods by Jules Weissman with whimsical details + ocean friends to tie in C + S’s personalities and interests.
Rad Rainbow Ceremony
Guests’ first impression of the wedding was this magical, tropical rainbow installation on a copper chuppah. These florals, by Inessa Nichols Design, are wild + otherworldly!
Walking down the aisle holding Shmuel's hand and seeing all of our guests for the first time. It was so wonderful to share that moment with him. I also loved breaking my own glass at the end of our ceremony! The groom Shmuel's favorite memory was seeing Christina in her dress for the first time.
Processional: This Will Be Our Year by the Zombies
Recessional: The Obvious Child by Paul Simon
First Dance: Pata Pata by Miriam Makeba
High Fives All Around!
Christina tells us how she chose her Grace Loves Lace wedding gown: I tried on a bunch of dresses and couldn’t quite find “the one”. Grace Loves Lace was awesome enough to bring back a retired design for me. I actually hadn’t even seen it before it arrived at my door! I was a little stressed out by their no alterations policy, but it ended up fitting perfectly!
This tropical bridal bouquet will be on our minds for a while!
Orange you glad to see these three cuties?!
Urban Tropics Reception
Feathered Arrow repurposed the beautiful rainbow arch by turning it into a whimsical escort card display. Yes!
Wild, Wild Details
Be true to yourself and hire a great coordinator to take care of the details.
A bridal bouquet + boutonniere for the urban-tropical books. We’re loving this style so much!
What a wild time. Cheers to these sweet newlywed visionaries!

Love the colors in this wedding !
♥♥♥
I thought I had been to every venue in LA but I have not been to the Grass Room. It makes sense that it is so hip because every venue operated by Marvimon is great.
Very colorful. :)
Love those vibrant colors for this wedding. Absolutely stunning!
The ceremony arch! Wow!!!
