Audrey + Leon love good food, good wine, and sharing in all the revelry with their friends + family (sounds like us!). When it came time to planning their wedding, they knew they had to incorporate those things, along with tons of music (Leon comes from a family of talented musicians — and they played at the wedding!). So there were the non-negotiables: good food, good wine, good music. Taking inspiration from Leon’s mom + her French heritage, the two decided to incorporate a ton of French cultural aesthetics and tradition throughout the day. To add a whimsical and bohemian feeling they added a mix of colorful rugs, pampas grass, overhanging greenery and florals, macramé, and their friend’s vintage van.
Audrey shares: The first major decision to make was when and where. One of our favorite memories when we started dating was watching a full moon rise over the Atlantic Ocean in Leon’s family’s backyard, and we thought it would be amazing to share that with our friends and family. Leon and I looked at the moon and tide charts and decided on November 4th. We looked at one venue, but ultimately decided (with a gracious YES from family), what better place than that very backyard. There would be a full moon rising, just past hurricane season, and with fingers crossed, dry cool weather.

The First Look
Audrey tells us: The black town car I had book to take me to our first look didn’t show… so, I ordered an Uber and was picked up by a 75-year old man in his smoky, barely street legal car! Too funny!
How stunning do these two look?! Audrey’s Sarah Seven dress is a modern marvel, with those ruffled sleeves + sleek silhouette. And my, oh my, Leon’s maroon tux is SO COOL! Who else is loving his look?
The Ceremony by the Beach
There’s something about pampas grass that just brings an elegant + bohemian touch whenever it’s incorporated. Don’t you think?

The entire day was a complete dream… but the ceremony tops a very long list of memorable moments. Leon’s dad and sister performed “You Are My Sunshine” as I walked down the aisle with my sweet dad. The song was a surprise to my amazing mom, who sang that song to me as a little girl. It was incredible.
We were married by Leon’s aunt; a woman we both look up to and admire. What she orchestrated was authentic, light-hearted and filled with so much love. We each wrote and exchanged our own vows to one another and collectively shared our commitments for our marriage underneath a handmade arbor. I wiped the tears off Leon’s face, squeezed his hand and knew in that moment, saying 'I do' was the best decision of our life. Then we kissed, and I whispered, in true Audrey fashion, “Dip me, dip me!”
Also magnificent, was our family-style dinner by our favorite French Restaurant. Wine was passed down the table and everyone stood up on the benches to watch the moon rise together.
The Newlyweds
Talk about hair goals! Modern Classic Beauty crafted a stunning take on a side-swept French braid.
The Wilding Collective crafted a textured bouquet, brimming with dusty autumn tones. Aren’t those maroon pops next to the soft pink hues simply divine?
Find yourself some amazing vendors, follow your heart and have fun. The planning process was a special time to spend with each other as well as family and friends. It was a true labor of love from all of the people that mean so much to us.
Don’t let small things get in the way of enjoying your day. There were some funny moments that all we could do was laugh. For instance, we were 30 minutes late to our own wedding and the cops came at the end of the night! But that stuff makes great stories for years to come!
The Reception Details

Dinner was catered by Orsay (their fave French restaurant), and palates danced in delight with French 75s, oysters, cheese, charcuterie, and baguettes… followed by all the Champagne and dancing!
Each of the guests received a sweet macramé + agate slice favor — too cute!

As the night trailed on, the guests toasted to the happy couple + watched the stars twinkle in the sky. Sounds pretty dreamy, right?
