Italian Summer Markets Inspired This Charming Outdoor Rehearsal Dinner

You can put away your passport and take a break from Duolingo – you don’t actually need to take a transatlantic journey to host a wedding weekend full of chic + sun-drenched European energy.

Robust ripe tomatoes 🍅 fresh pasta 🍝 and zesty citrus 🍋 filled the sunny outdoor spaces at Ohio wedding venue Basil Place. The colors were vivid, the florals were fresh + lush, and the vibes were molto, molto bene.

“Set under bold, blue-and-white umbrellas, this outdoor fête channeled the charm of an Italian summer market,” Ashley says, “complete with vine-ripened produce, lemon motifs, and Aperol spritzes sparkling in the sun.”

The whole thing has us thinking about how you really don’t have to go far from home to live some of your wildest destination wedding dreams.

“Bold yellow and blue patterned linens from Nuage Designs created the foundation for layered, citrusy joy,” Ashley says.

Wow — how perfect is that light wood guest seating from PR Rentals! Those charming chairs would be right at home in a garden party or an Italian outdoor bistro!

“Mismatched florals by Willows and Sage exploded in color with roses, marigolds, and wild blooms nestled among fresh herbs and peppered veggies,” Ashley remembers.

“The setting felt like a whimsical trattoria on holiday,” Ashley adds. “Striped umbrellas, vintage glassware, and a darling Vespa moment (courtesy of Mangia Dolce).”

“Menus were tucked into floral-charged napkins, accented with playful produce—from cherry tomatoes to banana peppers—making the food part of the decor in the most delicious way,” Ashley says.
