Does an intimate beach wedding sound like the perfect day to you? A day filled with gorgeous details, soaking up the sunshine, all the love radiating from your friends and family…and ultimately sharing it with your partner? Well that’s exactly what Kayla + Jay wanted to do, so they headed out to Nest in Tulum.
With a mix of boho meets glam styling, the intimate day took on a seriously DREAMY vibe. Kayla’s father officiated the ceremony–held on the beach in front of a stunning pampas grass and greenery ring backdrop. As Kayla is a huge animal lover, a darling donkey was there to greet guests with overstuffed packs full of florals.
Sound like your kind of celebration? Let’s take a look at all of the moments Chris and Ruth captured!
The Details
Anne Robin Calligraphy crafted an invitation suite that captured their hometowns and the place where they were going to say their vows. Isn’t this watercolor map darling?
The Gown
That dress!! Doesn’t Kayla look like an absolute goddess in this shimmering gown from Chosen by One Day?
Does it get any cuter than Frida?! Musi Kent Entertainment take good care of this sweet girl…and we wouldn’t mind hanging out with her!
The Beach Ceremony
Maria Limon crafted a circular arch adorned with pampas grass and fresh greenery—representing two people coming together, creating one union forever.
How perfect is that setting?
My first sight coming down the aisle; my husband (in tears) under the most beautiful arch I’ve ever seen complete with a floral adorned donkey & all my family & friends. Everyone was emotional because it was so magical.

Love that celestial hairpiece? It’s by Jennifer Behr.
Erica Beukelman of 10.11 Hair & Make Up crafted the perfect mermaid-like waves. Hair goals, right?!
The bride opted for a walkway lined with Moroccan rugs by Archive Rentals. DREAMY.
Be true to you during your wedding planning. It’s okay to pass on tradition if it doesn’t feel important to you. Seek out good-hearted, talented people to work with that share your vibe. These people will really be important throughout the process & support you that day.
The Beachy Reception
Following the ceremony, guest dined family-style on the patio with a long reception table created by Archive Rentals featuring locally sourced woven chargers, stoneware and vintage goblets. Live music played well into the night as attendees relished in the beautiful evening.

Each guest was greeted by a custom-made wood and resin place card by WildSmiths Crafts with their names hand painted by Anne Robin Calligraphy.
What a day. Congrats to the two of you!!
