Time-honored traditions were tossed out the window and replaced by chic, contemporary elements for this must-see editorial. France-based wedding photographer, Alejandra Loaiza teamed up with planner Scarantino Events and other pros in order to create the ultimate minimalistic and modern wedding setting—and we’re in love with the final product!

Not only did the shoot take place in a trendy industrial warehouse venue, but sleek black elements, (such as the black wedding dresses and tablescapes!) were used to evoke a modern, fashion-forward style throughout the session. “Weddings aren’t supposed to happen at an old factory, brides aren’t supposed to wear black dresses, and grooms aren’t supposed to have an all-white outfit … but we decided to smash all of those “classic” codes,” says Alejandra. It’s safe to say that her vision definitely came to life with the help of the unique floral design, altar, and wedding-day attire. Sift through the ultra-cool photos below and be prepared to want to steal some of these modern and minimalist wedding ideas.

So, of course their dresses were used in this modern/minimalist shoot. The model donned two looks, both in black, and it’s hard to pick which one is our favorite. The first looked included long, light and airy cape sleeves and a relaxed silhouette. The second, leaned a bit more sexy with the help of an illusion lace bodice and voluminous off-the-shoulder bishop sleeves.
