How to Make An Elderflower Margarita

How to Make an Elderflower Margarita

Yesterday we shared our Travel Guide for Copenhagen, Denmark. Such a fun and inspiring city! One of the things I love most about travel is trying new food + restaurants – and of course cocktails!! So fun to see what is popular in different cities. One thing that seemed to be everywhere in Copenhagen was elderflower! In the lemonade, ice cream, cocktails and more! Our whole family (even our young girls!) loved the taste (for them in the ice cream and lemonade of course!!) and I wanted to try and bring it into a few things here at home.

Our current cocktail of choice for Jason + I the past year or so has been margaritas. I’ve gotten PRETTY good at making a nice easy to drink margarita. I believe the key is the tequila – we will only drink Casamigos – it is SO good and honestly we never have a hangover the following day!  So very important when you have 2 young girls to look after the next morning! :) Also, simple fresh ingredients. I typically make them with fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice and agave syrup. Sometimes I’ll switch things up a bit and use watermelon or cucumber, so I thought why not try elderflower?! You  guys – it is SO GOOD! And simple to make. My two requirements. :)

What You’ll Need:

2 1/2 ounces Casamigos Tequilla
1 ounce St Germain Elderflower Liquor
2 ounce Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1/2 ounce agave syrup
Kosher salt (for rim)
lime wedge for garnish
Ice Cubes

Directions:

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously.
Strain and serve with a lime wheel slice garnish.
If you like salt, line the rims with lime juice, then dip in salt.

I’m a huge fan of a great cocktail shaker and of course like that you can find them in gold or rose gold. :) And a gorgeous glass doesn’t hurt either – just makes them even more fun to drink :)

I’d love to hear if you try this one and what you think! Are any of you already elderflower fans??
