When Hotel Joaquin in Laguna Beach approached Camille of Crowned Events about what a wedding could look like in their space, Camille took a lot of time considering the design of the hotel. She tells us: One thing that stood out to me was how they wanted it to feel like “home.” This resonated with us deeply, as we’re so passionate about translating our couple’s style in the details of their wedding design. We chose simple glassware, pottery style plates, and vintage flatware with a patina-look, making sure everything had an upscale feel while keeping with the neutral color palette of the hotel.
The overall result? Luxe coastal with a gorgeous earthy palette, complete with dried florals! When it came to designing the florals, it was the textured Costarellos gown from The Dress Theory San Diego that informed so much of the aesthetic.

Idlewild Floral used dried florals for every single element of décor—from the ceremony space to the bouquet to the tables…and this backdrop is just pure ART.

The Coastal-Inspired Lounge
For the seating display, we opted for handmade pottery from Camille of Crowned Events’ home that Pirouette Paper Company beautifully calligraphed. These pieces were hand made by her or her mother, which helped us further communicate the theme of “home” and ideally inspire couples to utilize pieces that have meaning to them as they think through their personal wedding design.
The Tablescape
