This Bride Wore A Handmade Pink Wedding Dress Made by Her Mother!

Lady in Pink Vintage Wedding

Katherine and Denzel originally eloped in Las Vegas on 2/2/22, but they still wanted to celebrate with their family in Arkansas! Yep, there is no rule saying you can’t do that and we love that they did what made the most sense for them. :) They selected Mildred Cooper Chapel as their ceremony space for its unique architecture – which we seriously fell in love with as well! They wanted to envelop themselves in layers of richness, art deco, and nature…they dreamt of simple vintage elegance with pops of jewel tones and we CAN NOT wait for you guys to see the final result!

The Blush Dahlia brought in the most beautiful florals, creating stunning arrangements and uniquely gorgeous bouquets. Count in Threes Photo was on site all day to capture each magical moment… now let’s have a look!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Denzel: Probably saying my vows and looking at Katie and scanning everybody, realizing that I was really speaking without any forethought in my mind whatsoever, probably for the first time really. I could not tell you what I said, but I know that when I was looking at Katie and speaking I meant it and I just thought feelings and stuff, and they were translated into words. And Katie was just looking at me so pretty, it was hard.

Katie: It was so important for me that our family and friends were able to blend together and share in our love for each other. Walking down the aisle and seeing him and our families looking so happy was perfect and it lasted the whole day. Exchanging our vows and just looking into each other’s eyes.

It’s FINALLY time to ask the bride about her dress! We were especially curious as to how she chose a pink dress rather than the traditional white. Let’s hear what she had to say…

“My dress had to be different. I love standing out with my fashion choices and having a vintage flair. My mom has always made my “big moment” dresses and the only thing I knew going into this was that I wanted her to make it and I wanted it to be pink!

We took a trip to Chicago to visit some large material outlet stores and were having a hard time finding lace that was what I had in mind. We finally found something close and my mom was able to cut and reconstruct it into what I wanted. As far as the style went, I wanted a touch of vintage with a pop of modern, and I think by making two different tops, she hit the nail on the head!! It turned out so perfect!! And the most amazing part, it took less than 2 weeks!!”

An Intimate Reception

Lady in Pink Vintage Wedding

The black details bled their way all the way into the tablescape and we honestly are ALL for it! The dark plates and silverware give the best balance of elegance and dimension.

Looking for more moody tablescapes and wedding aesthetics? We’ve got you. 😉

To complement the tablescape the couple chose the coolest black wedding cake that perfectly paired with their day’s aesthetic!

This beauty went for a natural wedding day makeup look, consisting of a minimal cat eye and a nude lip! Her long natural curls surely complimented her look and we are simply obsessed!

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Do what works for you as a couple. I think it’s easy to get caught up in planning what works for everyone, but at the end of the day it is for you two! Enjoy every moment that you can. it doesn’t have to be big and expensive to be amazing and memorable. A contrary to popular belief, procrastination works amazing!!! We planned most of our wedding in a few months and the majority in less than a week!!
