When two creatives decide to get married – you know it’s going to be a wedding to remember! Alise (an actor) and Jeff (an audio engineer) knew exactly how to get creative when COVID complications put an end to their original wedding plans. This day was one the couple had been dreaming of for a long time, so it was important to them that they made the most of it. Instead of scaling down their budget along with the guest list, they decided to put that money into making the dreamiest garden wedding…ever!
As to be expected, a wedding in a global pandemic means a minimized guest list. Alise and Jeff invited 10 of the most important people in their lives to witness their wedding in person. However, not all was lost for loved ones not able to attend. The bride and groom created a valuable Zoom experience for their guests. Even delivering them fresh, local foods to their door all over the country! This gesture, along with Zoom MC services by Second Song, made this experience unforgettable for everyone. With design & planning by Harmony Creative Studio, stellar florals by Rawfinery, and jaw-dropping photos by Lyublue, this beautiful couple was able to turn their backyard wedding into the soiree of their dreams.
It Starts at Home
Alise and Jeff were able to share the experience of getting ready together at home. Look how excited they are to get married!
Pivoting to a smaller ceremony gave us a lot of room to get creative, both in the space and with the events of the evening. Our original venue was a warehouse in DTLA and our concept was minimalist/industrial. So, we went with an upscale garden theme.
The floral design was important to us from day one, and we were in the best hands with our florist, Liz. We wanted it to feel very organic to the space – like the flowers had been there all along and overgrown over time. We asked her to just express herself, and we couldn’t have gotten a dreamier result. The installation on our front gate was pivotal for our ceremony and stroll-by guests. Not only was it “the portal” to the secret garden for our ceremony guests. Our “stroll by” guests absolutely loved it. They didn’t just get to stop by, it gave them something tangible to interact with besides us, and it was a great photo piece.
Alise’s dress by Alexia Maria was a perfect choice. Not only that – but her earrings and headpiece were made of real flowers! WOW!
Down the Aisle
The stylish couple lovingly held hands during their ceremony.
Definitely had to be the speeches. Mike, our DJ/Zoom host from Second Song made it possible for our family on Zoom to participate, so we really felt complete.
The cutest first kiss as husband and wife!
Driving By To Say Hello
Friends and neighbors alike rejoiced for Alise and Jeff’s wedding! A special area was set up for close friends to drive by the home and give their socially distanced congratulations.
Shots for the couple and their friends!
A Special Gift From Afar
Guests invited over Zoom were greeted with a curated basket of local goods. The absolute sweetest touch to help them feel as if they were there!
Velvet pink linens were draped over intimate tables for two.
A Delicious Journey Begins
The Walrus + The Hedgehog treated guests to a stunning 10-course meal, complete with complementary cocktail pairings.
A delicate dessert table was the perfect finale for the evening’s menu.
The glow of the evening light is the perfect representation of the love this couple has for each other. Congratulations, Alise and Jeff! Your wedding was one for the books…storybooks, that is!
