There are a LOT of unbelievable details about Paulina + Leonardo’s wedding, the least of which being that it was planned in less than 8 months. But hey, when you know you know! And we’re talking about Paulina’s very clear design perspective, of course. Here’s what she had to say:
We wanted our wedding to be the perfect combination of both of our design tastes. Leo is the most minimalistic person in the world. I’m into color, textures, and everything that has to do with Mexican culture. We wanted to have a traditional Mexican wedding with a neutral range of colors to keep it timeless and contemporary. We chose a white and gray palette, adding natural textures like Palo de arco which is locally sourced wood with the most beautiful gray color.
Being Cabo locals, the day unfolded at Paulina’s father’s ranch venue, Rancho Shibumi, surrounded by nature and overlooking the Pacific. Undaunted by the timeline, Event Design by Marianna Idirin stepped in to bring P + L’s vision to life. And all we can say is…WOW.
Prepare for the jaw drop!

Setting the scene…
Baby’s Breath Ceremony Arch
If you thought Mandy Moore’s wedding arch was a stunner…can you even believe what florist Pina cooked up?! A canopy full of fresh + dried baby’s breath with nothing less than the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop. Siiigh.

Paulina had two maids of honor, each who wore custom Reem Acra gowns.
Ride Fit for a Bride
Paulina + her father arrived in style in a Volkswagen safari car adorned with flowers.
Leo: The first time I saw my wife walking down the aisle in her wedding dress. After waiting for more than forty excruciating minutes at the altar I finally saw my wife being driven down the dirt road by her dad into the ceremony. I truly had no idea what to expect. It took my breath away when I finally saw her.
Paulina: What he said!
Look at that veil! Like her Reem Acra ‘Pearl Gown’, it was covered head to way-beyond-toes in pearls: I went for the longest veil possible because you know what they say; the longer the veil, the longer the marriage.
Reception in the Hacienda

Elsewhere on the property, the team took advantage of the hacienda’s amazing stone arches and palapa by bringing the Mexican elegance to the surrounding natural elements.
A Reception in Bloom
Get ready to be blown away. First, there’s the bar that we’d certainly want to frequent for more reasons than one, and second…
…NO WORDS.
By the way: 10 Reasons We’re Falling in Love with Baby’s Breath for Your Wedding Florals
To mark the start of the reception, a mariachi band guided guests toward the hacienda where eyes fell to the main attraction, a custom dance floor underneath clouds of baby’s breath.
Handmade Table Setting Details
On the tables, handcrafted decor from all over Mexico fought for their own spotlight. Textiles from Oaxaca, intricate candles from Mexico City, glass blown sacred hearts, and more combined for a stunning look.
Several place settings included wooden crosses carved with Milagros to represent miracles, each made by artisans in Oaxaca.
To seat the 300+ guests, Marianna Idirin created several unique place settings with pieces from Warehouse Rentals to compliment the handmade details.
An Unbelievable Centerpiece
To further that WOW aspect, four trees handmade by Mexican designer David Luna took their place among the scene. At almost 3 meters high, they towered above the custom circular tables, making quite the statement!

Invest in a good photographer and video crew. A lot of tequila and getting caught in the moment makes you miss a few things and details. Having good pictures and an unforgettable video makes you want to relive the night!
Take a yoga class on the morning of your wedding. Take a spiritual moment, read your favorite Bible passage. Be calm. Be thankful.
What a beautiful couple + a gorgeous day to match! (And we didn’t even mention the four live bands, 3-course dinner, and fireworks…whew!)
All our congrats to Paulina + Leonardo!
