Can’t decide between an oceanfront wedding or a unique indoor venue? Why not have both! This was the case for Laura and Caroline, a couple from Santa Barbara that wanted the best of both worlds for their dream wedding. After marrying by the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the two ventured over to Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm for an unforgettable reception in a greenhouse.
Tyler Speier Events designed the multi-faceted affair with two important elements in mind: jewel tones, and flowers! Laura and Caroline were largely inspired by rainbows for their special day and wanted them subtly incorporated into the flowers, decor, and more! Kindred Photography captured each moment through a beautiful, colorful lens. Wanna see every gorgeous detail? Let’s get into it!
Wedding Day Jewels
Behind every great bride is a beautiful support system! Caroline was surrounded by her very best gals on her wedding day, all dressed in stunning jewel-toned dresses.
The bridesmaids weren’t the only ones wearing stunning dresses. Caroline looked drop-dead gorgeous in this glamorous beaded gown from Chosen by Kyha!
The two brides were so excited to see each other in their wedding day outfits!
Overlooking the Ocean
Look at this amazing view! As if the scenery wasn’t beautiful enough, we’re loving the choice of florals on the triangular ceremony arch.
Processional: Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran (Laura) | Hearts Don’t Break Around Here by Ed Sheeran (Caroline)
Recessional: Faster by Matt Nathanson
First Dance: I Choose You by Sara Bareilles
The florals were designed to progress in color as they “grew” up the arch, starting with blue, then purple, red, orange, butterscotch, and blush. The back of the chairs were lined with autumnal foliage and pampas grass.
We love those rainbow sneakers! Here is a very similar pair if you want to rock rainbow shoes – for your wedding or any day!
Sunset was the perfect time for Laura and Caroline to exchange vows. The picturesque background exuded romance during their emotional ceremony.
After the ceremony and photos, as the sun was setting behind us, we drove Laura’s grandfather’s 1970s Chevy truck up to the reception. This was the first moment we had totally to ourselves to soak in that we were married! We also really enjoyed our sweetheart table. We were able to see the entire event and all of our guests while having a place to reconnect, just the two of us, throughout the night.
Bridal jean jackets are one of our favorite modern wedding trends! Caroline’s custom jacket was stitched with a rainbow and flowers to symbolize her special day with Laura.
Greenhouse Dreams
This scene is something out of a fairytale! Greenery, flowers, and lit candles guided guests into the stunning reception area.
Oh, and did we mention the GORGEOUS velvet curtains lining the entryway?
An acrylic seating chart guided guests to their assigned tables. With a floral background like this one, we could stare at the chart all day!
Laura and Caroline’s cocktail menu (featuring their adorable doggo)! included a range of fruity and flirty drinks.
There’s nothing chicer than a sun umbrella! The Wild Posy brought in sweet frozen treats for guests to savor on as the night went on.
Between round tables with navy linens to rectangular tables with tall centerpieces and others with hanging florals, there was plenty of visual interest to go around!
These watercolor menus are absolutely adorable! The seasonal menu included burrata and wild arugula salad, roasted butternut squash soup, and a choice of flat iron steak, horseradish crusted salmon, or risotto with butternut squash, wild mushrooms, sautéed spinach, and caramelized onions.
The sweetheart table was a jewel-toned dream!
We love the addition of autumnal flowers on this beautiful cake!
A good wedding planner is worth every penny! If you can hire a wedding planner it makes the process much more fun and much less stressful. With or without a planner, give yourself plenty of time so you can enjoy the process. Make sure to spend time picking the right vendors, so once you get to the wedding weekend you can just enjoy it! We had an amazing time all weekend knowing we had nothing to worry about.
As magical as this night was, it doesn’t stop here! Be sure to check out Laura and Caroline’s wedding video below – we promise you’ll feel just like you were there in person!
Congratulations to the happy couple! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
