Last week, one of the biggest + brightest events in bridal fashion took place… and we were there for it! Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week is the mecca for bridal designers — wedding dresses, bridesmaid gowns, groom’s fashion — you name it, it’s seen on the runway + all the decorated booths. The event is filled with seriously long days + long nights of shows, meetings with the designers, and tons of inspiration.
BBFW, organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Catalan Ministry of Business and Labour, brought together over 350 brands, 76% of them international, and attracted 21,500 visitors, 15% more than in 2022. According to the Director of BBFW, Albasarí Caro, “this edition confirms the take-off of the global bridal fashion market after the pandemic and its good prospects for growth, as well as the positioning of Barcelona as the undisputed appointment to see trends and close business deals due to the quality and internationality of the firms it brings together”
The collections of 34 designers from 15 countries were presented on the runway, while the crowd oohed + awhed. We saw so many stunning gowns — most of which will be available later this year — and noticed a number of trends:

2024 Bridal Fashion Trends – Mini Wedding Dress
We just LOVE a mini dress. They have been super popular with courthouse weddings and smaller weddings, but we are seeing them more and more – and we are so happy about this trend! So many fun ways to wear a mini and here are three of our favorites…
Bridal Trends – Florals
Florals on wedding dresses are nothing new but the ways in which we are seeing florals on the dresses ARE! Think unique floral appliques, florals in color, florals as belts and more! These were some of our favorite floral wedding dresses…
Contrasting Styles in the Wedding Dress
Another trend we saw and loved? Dresses with contrasting styles! Minimal sleek dresses with an unexpected element of tulle or lace appliques. Perfect for the bride who can’t decide if she wants to go more minimal or wants a dress with whimsical details…we feel you and these let you have both!
Gowns with Show-Stopping Textures
This are for the IT girl bride. The bride who really wants to make a fashion statement on her big day. Fringe, feathres, sequins and tulle worked in new ways. We saw lots of creative designs for the wedding dresses and these were some of our most favorites…
Bridal Trends – Jackets
The jacket! We saw gowns with sheer jackets, more masculine jackets, sweater jackets and lace jackets. This is the perfect trend for a late fall or winter wedding – or a bride who wants to make change up her look during the day…
Dresses with Color
We have always been fans of wedding dresses with color and love seeing more and more colorful dresses on brides! Pale blue and blush are the two most popular colors and we even saw a few black wedding dresses as well! If you love one of these dresses, the designer will often offer them in white/ivory for a more traditional look too.
Unexpected Details
We love a dress with an unexpected detail, something you hadn’t thought of or didn’t think would pair together. Maybe you don’t normally see it on a wedding dress (hello wedding pleats! hello wedding belt!). We love a dress with a surprise element and these were some of our favorites.
Bridal Capes
Wedding capes are one of our favorite accessories. They are becoming a much more common element in weddings as brides are often choosing a cape over a veil. One new trend in capes we saw and LOVED – the hooded cape. It’s very Taylor Swift, no? We can’t wait to see more of this trend!
