A Classic, Romantic Wedding in Canadian Cottage Country

This gorgeous Ontario wedding is something we can’t help but *cheer* about.

Brides Becca + Dee (you probably know them best as @becca.and.dee on TikTok) are both championship-winning cheerleaders. Way back in 2017, Dee came into the restaurant near her family’s home where Becca happened to be waitressing. Dee already knew who Becca was—the two were part of the same cheerleading organization—though Becca didn’t yet know Dee. When Becca’s shift was over, the two got to chatting, and the rest was history!

Becca + Dee each have major Instagram + TikTok followings, so these two beautiful brides have been sharing their love story with the world. And along with it? Their dreamy wedding day.

“The decor was classic and romantic,” say the brides. “We kept all items within the realm of white and black.” Together with planner Rachael from The Event Design Co., Becca + Dee created a celebration full of all-white florals, tasteful neutrals, and chic bow details that highlighted the beauty of their love story.

Becca + Dee are both Canadians with a shared love of “cottage country” (a Canadian term for dreamy countryside areas in Ontario, New Brunswick, and other provinces where people often have cottages or summer homes). And when they found Three Feathers Terrace in Innisfil, Ontario, they knew it was the spot before it had even opened its doors to the public.

“We had the opportunity to book our venue before it was built and had many visits along the way of it coming to fruition,” say Becca + Dee. “It really felt like we were part of the venue’s story. Three Feathers Terrace has become the most exquisite place!”

Thank goodness Scotty from North London Lens was there snapping all these flawless photos, cause we’re so excited to give you a peek into this stunning and super-special wedding day.

Getting Ready

Every bride needs a fun + funky pair of white heart shaped sunglasses.

We’re loving the shine + sophistication of this pair of pearly bow heels!

The couple started the day by getting ready separately. Dee got into her gorgeous asymmetrical neckline strapless Pronovias gown in the venue’s parlor…

…while Becca got ready in a lakeside vacation rental!

Ruffles. Bows. Pearls. 😍 These two brides really know how to choose a pair of wedding shoes.

LOVING the flowing cape-like detail of Becca’s Sarah Seven wedding gown.

“We both had the BEST time working with The Modern Bride team,” say Becca + Dee of their dress shopping experience. “From day one they put their arms around us. We each had our own shopping days, as well as our own bridal consultants that were both extremely helpful, respectful, and fun! TMB is truly a magical place filled with the best dresses, people, and of course Prosecco.”

“We have super different styles, so we weren’t all that worried about picking the same thing. Becca loves drama and Dee prefers something a bit more simple, but the TMB team had a plan to make sure there wouldn’t be any overlap. We found it so thoughtful of them to have thought to do that. Their team was directed to remove Becca’s items (who went first) from the store on the day Dee would go in to make sure that there was no chance of picking the same things.”

The First Look

Our Favorite Memory

-Getting ready at a luxurious Airbnb on Lake Simcoe.
-Our First Look where we realized we both picked dresses that complimented each other perfectly.
-The First Dance in front of a wood-burning outdoor fireplace under string lights.
-The champagne pop

“We absolutely were intentional in picking June for our wedding month,” say the brides. “Like many gay couples, coming out on our own (and also as a couple) was quite the journey. We did have to deal with some push back from people in our close circle, internet trolls, and our own internal struggles. Now, we’re in a place where we’re so proud to be who we are individually and as a couple!”

Attending Pride over the years has always resulted in us feeling a little bit more confident and comfortable than before. Small things like seeing pride stickers in coffee shop windows, flags on lawns, and the parade have all played a part in both of us creating the beautiful life we live now. Also, our anniversary is June 26th (pride weekend), so we wanted to have our dating anniversary and wedding anniversary in the same month.”

Each bride had their own glam squad on the day. Rickell Rutledge was behind Dee’s timeless wedding day updo while Jaclyn Foo brought her bridal makeup look to life. And Kristina Komitas created Becca’s beautiful curls while Beauty and the Bronzed made soft-yet-elegant makeup magic happen.

How perfect are those soft pink, subtly shimmery wedding nails!!

“We had heard about this new venue Three Feathers Terrace being built in Innisfil,” Becca + Dee say of how they discovered their dream venue. “There were many reasons why we chose it, but the most important one being the women that own it. Rebecca and Vicki made us feel so comfortable and supported while touring the venue. We planned to do a quick walk around the grounds, but ended up staying for hours chatting. Having good people that make you feel calm on your wedding day is such an important thing to consider when choosing your venue.”

Beyond that, they had plans to make their space as inclusive as possible for everyone including things like: gender neutral bathrooms, 360 wheelchair accessible venue, wheelchair accessible bar, and a wedding parlor that isn’t specific to any gender. We had such a good time throughout the process of planning this wedding, that we were genuinely sad we wouldn’t have reasons to chat with Rebecca and Vicki, or visit the venue post-wedding!

The Ceremony

“We loved the cathedral height windows on each end of the venue,” say the brides, and we agree!! “They are so stunning and served as the perfect backdrop for our indoor ceremony. They do have beautiful outdoor options, but we just couldn’t get over the beauty of the grand windows, and it did feel like you were outside with all the natural light that was let in.”

We’re astounded by the floral texture + elegance that Posh Floral Co. created using only white blooms!

How I Met Your Mother fans: you’re gonna love this. “At the beginning of the aisle, Becca left Dee a surprise that she only saw as she walked in the ceremony,” say the brides. “It was the opening quote to her favourite TV series (How I Met Your Mother). The quote was: ‘There are two big days in any love story: The day you meet the girl of your dreams and the day you marry her. – Ted Mosby.'”

Post-Ceremony Portraits

We love a hair transformation! Becca switched up her look mid-wedding when she gathered her down-do into this classic bridal pony.

The Reception

“The outdoor fireplace under string lights made for the perfect first look, cocktail hour, and first dance spot!” say Becca + Dee. “Ugh, the 70s music that was playing at cocktail hour out there with the outdoor bar was just magical.”

Black flatware and glass candlesticks from Honeypot Rentals made for elegant, minimalist, monochrome table decor.

Caulfield Design Co. created the day’s dreamy b+w bow-embellished paper goods.

And caterer Food Dudes was on hand cooking up the celebration’s delicious meal.

Dee stuck with her gorgeous ceremony gown for the reception, but Becca switched into a shorter illusion plunge neckline reception dress by Tal Kedem. LOVE the high-low silhouette of that dramatic train!

Soirée Entertainment kept the tunes coming so Becca, Dee, and their guests could dance the night away on a custom dance floor from Dance Floor Dynamics that read “Love Always Wins.”

How precious is this b+w vintage iced “Ball & Chain” wedding cake from Guelph Cakes??

Love that some delicate black bows made it onto the cake, too! “Being two femme girls,” the brides say, “we brought in the theme of little black bows throughout the entire event.” Bows really are one of the wedding trends we’re most excited to see right now.

This amazing photo has us tearing up. “It’s a wedding that feels like it “finally happened” after a long journey of coming out on our own terms, coming out as a couple, and fighting back on those in our personal circles who weren’t super supportive at first,” say the brides. SO touching to see a whole venue full of people celebrating these two and their love.

Congratulations, Becca + Dee! Your classic Canadian cottage country wedding was beyond romantic. All of us at GWS are so happy for you both!
