Chantelle Paige’s Magical Fairy Tale Wedding in the Woods

Chantelle Paige Carmel CA Wedding

Chantelle + Coulter are high school sweethearts (aw!) who survived the ultimate test: growing up! And thank goodness because these two lovebirds are clearly meant to be. (Psst: did you see their dreamy engagement session earlier today? SO good!) They wed surrounded by friends, family, and age-old trees on the Santa Lucia Preserve—the first venue they looked at! We’re all a bit captivated by Chantelle’s dress…we can only imagine what Coulter was thinking when she walked down the aisle! With help from Ryder Sloan Events, C + C created their dream day, filled with plenty of personal touches:

We wanted it to feel more like a fun party than a formal wedding. Our pet pig was our ring “boarer” and our dog walked down the aisle, as well. We said our own vows right after I walked down the aisle to a string quartet. They played the song that Coulter lip synced to me in high school in the Safeway parking lot, in front of the headlights of my car. We served breakfast for dinner, family style on mismatched plates. We also hung a swing and set up lots of couches to create the casual feel we were going for.

Ty French captured every darling detail from the day—let’s have a look!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Walking down the aisle and stumbling on my dress as I was trying to walk uphill outside in 6 1/4" heels and looking up to see Coulter saying "wow" then putting his hand over his mouth as he started to cry. I felt insanely loved, fulfilled, and so incredibly ready to spend my life with him. I proceeded to kiss him the second I made it to him and was jokingly reprimanded by Tim, his uncle & officiant of the wedding.

The Reception

In memory of Coulter’s recently passed grandmother, C + C asked their calligrapher to paint one of her poems which they hung at the reception. (Chantelle also wore her earrings! So sweet!)

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

First and foremost, enjoy the insanity of wedding planning. It flies by and you end up oddly missing it. More importantly, enjoy your fiancé during this time, and enjoy saying "fiancé!"

As for day of: don't stress, everything will go wrong and there is nothing you can do about it...so enjoy it and go with the flow. I had zero stress day-of. It was commented on by family, photographers, florist, and staff...literally all because I had that mentality. I found it insanely helpful and clearly, it showed. Say hi to everyone, but take moments to take in everything. Mid-bite at dinner, mid-MOH toast, mid-talking to all your family and friends...just look around and take in all the excitement and love!

Lastly, the thing I loved most that we did is we took a moment to be with one another. It wasn't planned, just a serendipitous moment where we walked back down the aisle and stood off to the side. We were so engrossed in excitement that I think people were unwilling to interrupt us. Whatever the reason, it was one of my favorite moments of the day. Just having said "I do" and getting to really be ecstatic with the man I just promised my life to, it was gorgeous. We even slow danced a little, so technically our first dance song isn't really our first dance!

OHHHHH and I highlyyyyy recommend saying your own vows, I know it's scary and seems overwhelming, but it makes promising forever so much more intimate!
