Vintage Style Meets Modern Trends

This curly bridal updo is one for the ages! The creative team behind this editorial shoot wanted to blend history, beauty, and modern sensibility, and hairstylist Steffany Logan definitely understood the assignment.

To balance the vintage vibes, the stylists added this modern veil from Rebecca Anne Designs to the classic bridal look. We’re loving that maximalist ruffle hem and romantic embroidered flowers!

A Wedding Venue For The Ages

“It was important to me that every element felt intentional,” photographer Paulina Harston says about planning this editorial. “The location itself played a huge role — the history of Birdsall House, with its lived-in grandeur and personal connection to its owners, added depth to the narrative.”

“I wanted to honour its character while introducing fresh, editorial elements that felt relevant to today’s couples,” she explains. One of our favorite modern details from the shoot? The draped fabric backdrop.

Fabric portrait backdrops are one of our top wedding photography trends for 2025, and this design shows just how elegant they can be.

Major romance!

A Glamorous + Whimsical Reception Design

For the reception, the vibe was vintage opulence mixed with ethereal glamour.

“My inspiration stemmed from the idea of a contemporary love story unfolding within an old-world setting,” says Harston.

“I was particularly drawn to the contrast between structured elegance and the softness of nature, which is why I incorporated flowing fabrics, organic floral arrangements, and natural movement in my photos,” she explains.

From the overflowing floral arrangements from Forge Events to the classic tapered candles and draped tablecloths, this is the definition of a dreamy tablescape.
