Get ready for the “can’t live without each other love” and the Sex and the City wedding that we were all dreaming about. Meet Carrie + Big: the iconic couple from cult series SATC. It’s a show where friends and fashion inspired and ultimately defined an entire generation. We were all rooting for that glamorous library wedding, and who can forget the shock and sadness of Carrie’s face, blue feather hairpiece ready-to-go, flip-phone falling to the floor? We all cheered when she pummeled Big with her giant bouquet, sending petals flying all over NYC. And perhaps most moving of all- Charlotte’s dramatic reaction that only a true best friend would give. Heart-breaking. But have no fear fandom, M+E Forever Events is giving us all the wedding of our dreams at cosmopolitan venue, Warehouse XI:
Sex and the City is iconic. The friendships and fashion define the series; however, so too does Carrie’s love for Big. It may have been toxic, and at times, illogical, but it was a love that defined a generation. We appreciated the simplicity that was Carrie and Big’s courthouse wedding, but it never felt right to us that their over-the-top library wedding ended in petals scattered on the pavement. And with that, we decided to reimagine the infamous almost wedding and give Carrie the day she deserved.

Hidden Hints for the Fans
SATC fans can go on an Easter Egg hunt throughout this shoot and find so many details that hint back at iconic moments in the show.
Throughout the shoot we incorporated some smaller details that only true Sex and the City fans would have picked up on. Both the vow card and leather jacket are from Ludwig Van Beethoven’s “Immortal Beloved” which was a very prominent piece of Carrie and Big’s relationship. Carrie reads this love letter from the fictional book “Love Letters of Great Men” to Big. The last three lines “Ever thine, Ever Mine, Ever Ours” demonstrate the depth of Carrie and Big’s love for each other. Additionally, the gold velvet ribbons tied around their personal flower arrangements read “Me + You” and “Just Us Two” which is another memorable quote from the movie.
Carrie’s Bridal Look
It’s not a Sex and the City wedding without some fashion! This Styled Shoot Dress Rentals gown reportedly weighs over 10 lbs! As M+E Forever Events says, they had to go BIG or go home! (pun intended!) We think Carrie would 100% approve!

Model Kayla Newman styled her own hair while Erica Coelho made an edgy, modern makeup look that we’re totally digging.

Sex and the City Wedding Inspiration
For the tablescape, we knew we wanted to limit the colors to teal and yellow so that the vibrant flowers could really speak for themselves. We antiqued a pair of vintage gold velvet chairs, as well as a beautiful wood table that came all the way from Ireland, to set the scene. Yellow tapered candles in antique brass candlestick holders dawned both the table itself and the floor below it. A teal cheesecloth runner ran the length of the table and draped onto the floor.
This tablescape has the luxe style vibes that Carrie was known for!
Lounging Around
Haven Floral Company totally captured the modern Sex and the City wedding vibes with their flowers! Jewel tones and peacock feather accents are perfection. We bet Big is glad Carried didn’t have this settee arrangement in her hands when he left her at the altar!
For the lounge scene, we utilized a vintage purple velvet settee and gold end tables. The settee itself was decorated in flowers starting at the top sauntering onto the floor- one could even say it was just as over-the-top as Carrie herself. We spray painted dried palm leaves gold and used them as accent pieces to further elevate the look of the settee. Of course, we had to scatter some more rose petals on the floor, as well as bringing in some deep teal tapered candles.
Black Tulip Calligraphy created so many beautiful details for the shoot, but our favorite has to be the “It Wasn’t Logic, It Was Love” sign.
What does a modern Big wear to wedding day? Maybe a velvet jacket and cropped pants from ASOS!

This teal and gold wedding cake from Ellie’s is the perfect finishing touch to this Sex and the City wedding shoot! We’ll take a big slice and a Cosmopolitan please! What do you think fans?
