Gillian + Jason met in high school—he was actually her first crush in 9th grade! Little did she know he would become her husband years later… Jason went on to school in New York with Brent, who soon would become one of the owners of Tin Roof Barn, with his wife, Kelly. Jason attended Kelly + Brent’s wedding at the Tin Roof Barn—built in 1915, the barn sat on the property of Kelly’s parents in White Salmon, Washington. Jason told Kelly during her wedding that when and if he ever decided to get married, it would be at Tin Roof Barn…
A number of years later, Jason took Gillian to Washington to meet Kelly and Brent. Here’s Gillian with what happened next: The morning after we arrived we walked up to the barn with some coffee and Baileys in hand. Jason asked Brent if he wouldn’t mind taking a photo of us and our daughter. We posed for the shot, and I could feel him shaking…as was I. He turned to me and said, “If we want to get married here, we should be engaged.” (Gasp!) He got down on one knee, pulled out the ring box from his back pocket and revealed the antique-inspired aquamarine and black diamond engagement ring. A year later we were married and shared the greatest day of our lives with our friends and family in that exact spot.

The Wedding Party
Gillian found Stylish Bride Accs on Etsy and was able to get the perfect pieces for all her ladies! The soft white lace was chosen to complement her gown, and waterfall tulle skirts in pastels rounded out the look. Oh, and did we mention that each top was completely customized to emphasize individuality? So fun!
She shares: I chose this style because I wanted to tailor each of my ladies to a specific color that reminded me of them. They rocked it! The contrast of the soft colors along with the flower print of the groomsmen shirts, paired with the dark rustic barn wood was epic.

The Gown
Gillian scored at Viva Bridal Shop and got her dress, veil, shoes, rehearsal dinner dress and the dress for the flower girl. How awesome is that?
The Anastasia gown, designed by Wtoo, was a true masterpiece. Would you look at all that lace and the deep V!

The Outdoor Ceremony

Bride: The the moment I said, "I do." I know cheese, but I've been dreaming about this moment since I was 14!!!!! Marrying my best friend was definitely my highlight!
Groom: There’s only one answer here. The moment my wife swayed down the aisle towards me, wearing the specific, “I can’t wait to marry this man” smile you only get to see once. She has plenty of smiles, but that one was unique. Standing there with my daughter and seeing that. I’ll never forget it.

From pampas grass to floating greenery above the barn tables—Bailey of Forest and Field knocked it out of the park with her “Herbalist Package.”
Gillian tells us: When she mentioned that all the greenery, herbs and flowers could be used medicinally, I was sold! I’ve always practiced an eco-friendly regime with my makeup, and thought it was so cool to tie into the florals. There were combinations of rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, St. John’s Wort, and sage native to the Oregon coast; after the wedding, Bailey broke down these plants and made a beautiful box of mixed salves, tinctures, smudges, and ointments so I could use every last drop of our wedding experience.
All that greenery! We love the rustic look the tables have with the lace and how all the leafy greens make it feel like the forest is growing within the barn.
Gillian is a self-proclaimed gem + crystal girl. From amethyst to rose quartz to B.C jade and selenite, the place was decked with crystals! Along with the gems placed on the tables were the wedding favors.
She tells us: Each guest received a handmade (made by me) Kamloops B.C sage smudge. Jay, our daughter Avalon and myself forested the sage, lavender from Kamloops and wrapped each smudge with love. 110 sage smudges made to be exact! Attached on each one was a smudge prayer, a little saying to rid yourself and your space of any negativities whilst burning the sage. A perfect “us” touch to our wedding.

Hire a wedding planner. They’re worth every penny. Our wedding planner was the sole reason our wedding went the way it did. Which was PERFECT. Zero worry or anxiety on the big day because nothing was left up to us or our guests. She told us where to be and when to be there and ran the entire thing start to finish. By the end of it all, she really felt like a close friend.
