The Bride Wore A Blush Dress For This Colorful Disco Dinner Wedding in Providence, Rhode Island

When the bride + groom both come from creative backgrounds, you know the wedding’s gonna have some WOW moments!

“We approached our wedding as an art installation,” say Leah + Ed, “designing and fabricating most elements ourselves. Our goal was to celebrate with our loved ones, welcoming them into a space that was intimate to us and thoughtful of them.”

These two put their creativity to work along with planners from Lo-Fi Events and created a vibrant and personal disco dinner party celebration at Dye House in Providence, Rhode Island. There were cascading florals and glittery mirror balls and tons of personal touches—so many elements were designed and made by the bride herself and the groom tracked down unforgettable details like old school arcade game cabinets and a vintage b&w film photo booth.

The fact that everything came together for Leah + Ed’s big day is astounding: “We overcame the loss of our venue (caterer, rentals, and guest accommodations) in a massive fire just two and half months before the wedding, and, even worse, a life-threatening health complication one week out,” say the couple. “Through love, support of one another, and working together, we designed and had an unforgettable wedding that celebrated us as a couple.”

We’re so glad this colorful wedding turned out the way it did and went off without a hitch! And that photographer Anna Zajac was there snapping stunning photos.

Okay, we’re already in love. Those Camellia Gold Pleated Bow Heels!! Loeffler Randall is one of our all-time fave spots to buy wedding shoes online.

These bold and beautiful paper goods are just one of a bunch of things that bride Leah (aka design wizard Leah Miriam Pisari) created for her own special day! Love the way that these eye-popping colors set the tone for the look of the whole wedding!

Grab yourself a blue hexagon ring box like Leah + Ed’s if you have a dreamy detail shot like this one in mind.

Leah’s hair accessories!! 😍 Nothing says special occasion like glinting gold hair clips and a tiara-headband-hybrid. Look through our list of the 49 best bridal headbands for your wedding day to get on Leah’s level.

Leah’s voluminous waves were the work of Blinked to Beauty, and her rich, neutral makeup look was created by wickedbeautystudio.

Just a reminder to any stressed-out brides out there: your dress-discovering journey doesn’t have to be a total fairy tale. Leah ordered a dress that wasn’t quite right and had it altered only to know for sure that it wasn’t the one. But going back to square one led her to the FAB floral tulle gown in blush by BHLDN!! We are obsessed with the color and with that tiered skirt!

The bright florals in Ed’s boutonnière are a nonstop celebration.

The Ceremony

Sweet Talk Floral created a vivid floral wonderland out of Leah + Ed’s venue!! The way they worked these glittering disco balls into the countless dangling arrangements is absolute genius.

First Dance: No first dance!

Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding

Leah: Everything was such a whirlwind. After the ceremony, Ed and I took time away from everyone in the loft space. It was the perfect moment to reflect and be together, quiet and intimate.
Ed: First looks, when I saw Leah in her dress, that was the first moment that felt like all we had been planning and preparing for was happening.

The Reception

Bride Leah created that disco ball card box out of a globe!! Also, we LOVE the idea of using a vintage Rolodex as a guest book!

Leah also designed these holographic motel key favors to create the reception seating chart! Explore our collection of 36 unique wedding seating chart ideas we’re obsessing over to start dreaming up a one-of-a-kind way to get your guests to their tables.

These wooden banquet tables from Quality Rental added warmth to the industrial venue and served as a perfect base for all of the colorful florals and decor.

Our Advice To Those Planning Now

Roll with the punches; things can work even on the tightest deadlines. We had to replan the entire wedding with three months to go, and it came out better than the original plans.
Hire the best vendors for your team. Don't get trapped by sunken cost; if you sign with a vendor and it doesn't feel like the best fit down the road, find a new vendor. You might have to pay a fee or lose a deposit, but better to lose the money than regret it after your wedding. Our wedding would not have happened if we hadn't hired Lorinda at Sweet Talk Floral. We were desperate to find a new venue when our original location burned down. Finding any venue, let alone one that fits our vibe, felt impossible. She pointed us towards the Dye House, and we had them booked within the week.
Lastly, hire a coordinator or planner. Nicole at Lo-fi Events as our partial planner and day-of coordinator was a game changer. Not only did she help in planning and scheduling, but Nicole was also a hero in crisis. She stepped up when I couldn't. I remember texting her right after Ed's stroke; she took over everything. From then on, I didn't communicate with vendors or worry about details. I know our situation is extreme, but you never know. Hire someone to help.

So glad Ed hunted down this very vintage film setup from Classic Photo Booths! Such a fun and eclectic touch!

Congratulations, Leah + Ed! Your disco dinner party was an absolute dream!! Best wishes from GWS!
