Lindsay and Robby’s wedding is the perfect example of what happens when you blend laid-back bohemian details with fun and funky disco-inspired decor. Essentially, a “you name it, it happened” kind of celebration!
Their extravagant bash took place on their families’ property in Salado, Texas, so they had tons of open pasture to utilize and transform into their eclectic and whimsical one-of-a-kind setting. The couple took advantage of the remote venue and exchanged vows outside where they had a pampas grass and wildflower-filled circular arch serve as an eye-catching backdrop. Following the ceremony, guests were then invited to a tented reception (decorated by the talented planners of Simply Elegant Group!) to celebrate, or should we say boogie, the night away.
Madison Katlin Photography captured the special event and says it was definitely one to remember. “Thanks to Lindsay’s impeccable vision and all the help of the many vendors this day was a Disco DREAM,” says Madison. Details of the tented reception included mirrored disco ball decor for a glittery and retro look paired with modern boho elements, such as velvet linens, wildflower florals, and ghost chair seating.
Along with the eclectic details and decor, the wedding fashion at this bash was also something else. Lindsay donned an effortlessly chic jumpsuit and asked her ‘maids to wear a white dress of their choosing—some even wore hats! See more of this magical day (like the sparker-filled send-off!) below.
Lindsay says she always knew she wanted to wear a jumpsuit instead of a traditional ball gown on her wedding day. “In my wardrobe jumpsuits are the pieces that make me feel beautiful and powerful,” says Lindsay. Adding, that she had seen a jumpsuit designed by the popular French designer Rime Arodaky online and immediately fell in love with the look. “I ordered it and got her tailored and the rest is history!
As for Robby, he says he wanted to go more simple for his wedding-day look. “Fit is more important for me than extravagant colors,” says Robby. Adding, “and I didn’t want to take away from my bride, so I went for a simple palette.”
The illusion lace detailing on this jumpsuit definitely gives us major heart eyes!
Lindsay and Robby say that their private venue was special to the both of them and therefore it was very important for them to show off the land’s special features throughout their celebration. “We also wanted our guests to have a memorable, playful time at our wedding—that’s where all the glitter and disco balls come in,” adds Lindsay.
For a sentimental touch, the groom’s parents sang during the ceremony.
The high we felt just after our ceremony was for sure the most memorable part. I felt like I was about to float away into the clouds. We both shared intense adoration of each other's vows and had an intense "I can't believe we just did that!" feeling. Then it was time to party:)
Have fun! And ask for help when you need it! Don’t sweat the small stuff. Write your own vows! Yes, it’s terrifying but so worth it and we will cherish them the rest of our lives.
At the reception, guests enjoyed “His, Hers, and Theirs” signature drinks, such as a whiskey sour and margarita, an avocado and glitter bar, a disco ball-filled dance floor, and Whataburger and s’mores for a late-night snack. Fireworks and a sparkler send-off concluded the special event.
