Mele Kalikimaka from the Marzettes! Ann and Jon wanted to celebrate their love and their favorite people during the most wonderful time of the year with a bold, punchy, bright, Hawaiian Christmas wedding at The American Restaurant in Kansas City – with no detail spared. Combining Ann’s creative musical background and Jon’s graphic design skills, the couple partnered with Wildly Yours Weddings + Elopements to design a vibrant color story and aesthetic inspired by the custom invitation suite Jon designed, complete with a wedding “logo” depicting the couple.
A + J’s big day embodied the energy and edginess that combined all of the couple’s favorite memories and sentiments. Captured stunningly by In Frames Photography, this couple and their day emanate pure joy and magic!
It’s All in the Details
So obsessed with these wedding invites designed by Jon Marzette…the groom himself!

We love a bride in a stunning pair of wedding shoes!!

Ann’s dress is from Essense of Australia and she shared with us just how she found her perfect gown(s):
“I had two dresses for the day, which made it really fun for me! I love fashion and dresses especially, so this was a dream. I looked at a few different places and oddly enough decided on the least-expensive dress for our big day. It felt classic and I just thought the pearls were such a timeless element that I wanted to incorporate into my overall aesthetic for the day.”

Groom Jon was dressed to impress by Paolini Garment Company!
Love at First Sight
The Bridal Party

Seriously obsessed with this bridal party! The purple tulle gown was a custom gown by Kala Noel, a friend of the bride, and it’s stunning! Kala designed Ann’s second dress as well – and wait until you see it!!
If you love the look of this bridal party, we curated a few dresses to get this same vibe as well…

And let’s talk about those florals!! JUST WOW! Cannot get over these beautiful pearl-studded and tulle-swathed floral arrangements by Trapp and Company!

Looking great, fellas! Loving the bolo ties!

The Newlyweds
Mr. and Mrs. Marzette everyone!

Our number one piece of advice is just to stay true to yourselves as a couple. Let your day be a true representation of who you are, and don't focus so much on the minute details that you probably won't remember 10 years down the road. Also, hire a wedding planner or coordinator. Ours was a true angel, and thought of every single thing we would possibly want/need!

A Color-Infused Celebration

Can we talk about these gorgeous pink hues? Their color palette radiates elegance and magic!

This New Orleans-inspired pink cake from Dolce Bakery perfectly tied into their stylish color palette!

And, wow! Loving the bold color for the second dress!!

“With a December wedding, we didn’t want it to feel like the holidays in a traditional way. We wanted elements of the holiday season (we used Christmas ornaments as our parting gift, and had a seasonally themed signature cocktail), but otherwise we just wanted it to feel like us: fun, creative, inspiring, welcoming. We wanted everyone to have a great evening with an elevated holiday party vibe, with the perk of seeing us exchange our vows.”

Having guests leave a voice message for the bride and groom to listen to after the wedding is so fun and creative!

Our first look was really special. Jon was so teary and emotional and it made the day even more heartfelt for me. Jon: Speeches were very memorable. We had the entire range of emotions, from crying and reminiscing to laughing so hard we were crying again.

“My tulle dress was designed by a friend, Kala Noel, and it was so whimsical, fun, and completely me. I think it was nice to show multiple sides of myself in what I wore for the day: elegant and classy with the wedding dress and bold and fun for the reception!”

“Think outside the box and don’t feel like you have to do everything by the book! It’s your day…make it unique to you and your partner.”
Now this is the look of love! A huge congrats to Ann & Jon from all of us at GWS!
