Tucked away in Southern Maryland is a slice of Tuscany called Running Hare Vineyard. Looking to add some spunk to the grounds, Christine McFarlane Events and Brooke Michelle Photography teamed up with avant-garde winter wedding inspiration on their minds:
Although late winter isn’t the most popular time to have a wedding at a vineyard, we wanted to show off the serene, versatile backdrop that winter hands us in Southern Maryland. The wintry golden hour, natural textures, and open fields are something to celebrate in and of itself.
They settled on a color palette of mustard yellow, jade, and mauve, fused with the textures of wood grain, velvet, and faux furs. The not-so-subtle textured details brought an eclectic touch and added warmth to the winter day!
Ready to get a cozy and inspired for winter? Let’s go!
The Dress
First things first: the bride’s Kir dress by Sarah Seven. Simple perfection with a sweet sleeve and bold slit to show off those yummy shoes!
These velvet gems are from Madden Girl! You guys know we love colorful wedding shoes ;)
The Ceremony
J Starr Flower Barn dressed the pergola with a banner of florals and greenery, offering some colorful pops to the day!
The team topped off the ceremony site with a emerald backdrop to add a shade of green not found in the scheme of the season. Wooden chairs lined the aisle, dotted with furry pillows and textured blankets to keep guests cozy.
Loving those fringe earrings!!
The Bouquet
Goodness, the bouquets by J Starr Flower Barn are just happy!
The girls were golden in gowns from Lulu’s! The funky-fresh style came together with hair by PSC Hair Artistry and makeup by Kaytee Spanoghe.

The bride slid on a faux fur mauve jacket for a classy post-ceremony look.
The Reception
Jamie Wheeler Designs created a fun watercolor invitation suite + menu that is all kinds of wonderful.
To bring in more cozy textures, the table was lined with faux fur! The stand alone floral centerpiece mimicked the overgrown, organic shape of the bridal bouquet, and wooden place cards greeted guests at each place setting.
Aren’t the place cards cute? You can get them on Etsy from Sugar Boo Bespoke Gifts!
We ADORE these chairs from Something Vintage!
You know the style is on point when the cake matches the paper goods like this stunner by The Cake Courtesan! We’re totally digging these funky winter wedding vibes – so cool, right? Thanks to the creative team for sharing!
