The holidays have passed but that doesn’t mean the winter weddings are over! So if your planning a January/February wedding and you can’t find any inspiration that doesn’t include fir trees and glittery baubles, where do you turn? Well, thanks to the imagination of event planner, Jason Lloyd, and photographer, Victoria Gold, we’ve got a brilliant answer to that conundrum right here on GWS! Their monochrome wedding inspiration features whites, silvers, and greys for a winter day that captures the season’s glam side. Victoria fills us in on how the day came to be:
The idea of a monochromatic white winter wedding came to us when all we could find for winter wedding inspiration were deep greens and reds. Nothing wrong with those gorgeous jewel tones but we wanted something different for those January/February weddings that weren’t quite Christmas weddings but not yet spring. We’d seen the rustic winter weddings and the totally glam but wanted to find something in between for the brides who were not sure where on that spectrum they fell. And what could be more winter that an all white wedding that seems as though it had been covered in a blanket of snow—but without the cold! Winter in Southern California is never really white, after all, and we wanted to bring that to Los Angeles. We even spray painted the greenery to be white. We really wanted it to look like a winter wonderland with out being to ‘on the nose’. With DIY ceremony geometric installations, a fresh off the runway 2018 Tara Lauren dress, specialty cocktails and a gorgeous venue, York Manor, our vision came to life and we think brides are going to feel the whimsical winter wedding vibes immediately.
Let’s have a look at the photos by Victoria Gold!
LOVE these laser cut invitations by Ceciles Paper Co.
How stunning is the silhouette on this Tara Lauren dress?
The bride wore a headpiece by one of our favorites, Twigs and Honey, and rocked a glam look with hair and make up by Belle by Brielle.
What a bouquet!! Willow and Wine created some brilliant frosted florals for the wintry day.
How do you dress a groom for an all-white wedding? We think this grey suit from ASOS blends in AND stands out perfectly!
Jason Lloyd built a beautiful geometric centerpiece for the ceremony, adding a touch of modern design to the event.
Totally feeling these shoes by Freya Rose! Bride Boutique provided these babies; here are a few of our favorite silver heels:
Signature white cocktail, check!
La Piñata provided the furniture and tabletop rentals for the day. One nice perk to planning a monochromatic wedding? For those of us who have a hard time making decisions, it narrows the options! We call that a win.
It’d be fun to ask guests to dress in greys and blacks OR could be just as cool to see them pop in color! Either way, this is such a visually stunning concept.
Nicole Bakes Cakes rounded out the day with a sweet, 3 tiered finish!
Thanks to the talented team for sharing this unique day with us!
