What’s more romantic for two old-souled literature lovers than having Shakespeare be a central part of your love story?
In college, Molly + Percy—both English majors—met doing a production of Shakespeare’s tragedy Titus Andronicus (definitely not one of his most romantic plays, but still!!). When it came time to say “I do,” they filled their Northern California wine country wedding with books and flower crowns and tons of romantic, literary whimsy.
Molly + Percy chose to tie the knot at Stubbs Vineyard, the expansive family-owned property where Percy grew up, and we cannot get enough of the scene-stealing scenery!
Molly + Percy brought tons of massively creative DIY elements to life and, with the help of Small Blue Planet Events, they created a dreamy, distinctive wedding day amidst the glorious rolling hills of Petaluma, CA that completely captured their spirit as a couple.
And Olivia Avers Photography was there taking totally breathtaking pictures!
Frolic In The Forest
Starting off the wedding day with some seriously magical wood nymph vibes.
Molly’s bridesmaid wore ethereal matching blue and white floral dresses from Milla.

The day’s floral elements—including these flower crowns and pastel bouquets—were dreamed up by Peaches & Poppies Florals.
The Ceremony
Bride Molly hand painted the wooden signs that guided guests along the journey through the hills to the ceremony.
The way was marked with yellow pained bricks to create a DIY yellow brick road to follow!
Photographer Olivia says, “The vineyard felt like it came out of middle-earth.”
Another DIY creation: Percy and his dad MADE this window-frame-inspired ceremony arch. A perfect way to highlight these breathtaking views.

Flower crowns for everyone!! Love that Percy’s forest green tie incorporated the colors of the lush landscape.
New goal: find a best man who will write and perform an original song for your ceremony.
Molly searched far and wide for the right wedding dress. Early on in a dress hunt that would end up including about ten different fittings, she tried on an Enaura gown that piqued her interest but ultimately wasn’t right. Finally, at an Enaura trunk show, Molly found this romantic beaded bodice wedding gown and knew it was the one when she realized it would pair perfectly with her flower crown!

The Reception
We cannot get enough of the Dark-Academia-meets-Cottagecore energy of this vineyard venue.
Our Advice To Those Planning Now Having an event beyond a rehearsal dinner in the lead up to the wedding is a fantastic way to get a lot of the “hi thank you for coming” conversations out of the way. We invited everyone to go on a hike the Friday afternoon before the wedding (BYO picnic!).
Also, getting a bubble machine was the best little add on thing we did. Watching kids, adults and dogs light up and chase bubbles across the dance floor was pure joy!

The wedding guest style game was very strong.
Each table was filled with moody florals and books written by the author the table was named after!
Another DIY detail: “We also wanted to tie in the farm where we now live in England,” Molly + Percy say, “so every place setting had a personalized stone, painted beautifully by Percy’s aunt and taken from the fields of the farm in England.”

Molly + Percy cut a slice using a family sword!
The reception was full of unique touches like this “just married” Land Rover and the live Beatles cover band, Ticket To Ride, that played tons of Molly + Percy’s favorite tunes.
Our Favorite Memory From The Wedding Our four siblings snuck away from the party during the band’s performance and suddenly appeared, as the band struck the opening chords of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club band in exact replicas of the iconic outfits from the cover of Sgt Pepper (complete with epaulets and fake mustaches). It was totally crazy and completely wonderful!
