I absolutely love the idea of an elopement – and I think this might be one of the sweetest elopement ideas I’ve seen. This actually isn’t a real elopement, but I think it really shows that elopements can be so sweet + personal – and I of course love that. When I first saw these photos, I thought for sure it was real – the couple looks so in love! But turns out they actually just met – the photographers (The Why We Love) set up two of their friends (both artists and writers) for this shoot. And turns out this staged elopement session turned into real love for this adorable couple – gotta love that!! Janean (the bride) kept saying “this is exactly how I would do it. Know somebody, love somebody, and wake up one day saying “Lets get married…today.'” What was planned on being a simple test shoot turned into a real love story.
They ended the evening with a quick wardrobe change and a budget reception at a local Taco Truck which you can find on the corner of Holly and Fair Oaks in Pasadena every night from 9pm on. This is Peter’s (groom) hang out. This is how he envisioned celebrating the most important day of his life. The family owned restaurant on wheels that knows him and his order by name. The amount of cheering and laughter that came out of everyone’s mouth when he introduced his new bride could have been heard at least a block down.
So super sweet + magical! Thanks for sharing your ideas and real love story :)

If you love the idea of eloping, check out these real elopements I’ve shared: an elopement in Joshua Tree, elopement + a train ride, elopement in Los Olivos and elopement on the rooftop.
What a cute story! The photography is amazing as are the flower designs used through out the shoot!
I love it. Everything is just so quaint and lovely! Beautiful.
As a real-life eloper myself, I can tell you it is definitely the way to go!
Are the taco truck photos also part of the elopement shoot, or are those from after their own wedding? Just not sure what’s styled and what’s real!
Hi RM – Yes, the taco truck is what they picture doing for dinner – it’s all a styled shoot to bring some inspiration for those thinking of eloping. Thanks!!
i’m loving her dresses and that flower headpiece too.
