A drop of rain couldn’t put a damper on their dreamy day! As rain showers moved into the forecast of California’s famously dry + sunny Coachella Valley, Erin + Brendan didn’t even blink. The day was finally approaching and the only thing that mattered was saying the I dos! Which they did—beautifully—atop the roof of downtown Palm Springs’ new Kimpton Rowan hotel. Erin has quite the eye for design as a project coordinator at Restoration Hardware, and she called on her mother to help bring her vision to life. Here’s what Erin had to tell us about the inspiration:
My inspiration was eclectic, I’d say! Black tie meets bohemian in muted desert tones (with as many flowers as possible because SPRING)! We’d hoped to find a venue with dramatic desert landscape to host a multiple-day event for the people we loved to get to know one another. The Rowan was a wonderful solution — we took a tour in hard hats then booked them before construction even finished! By the time our ceremony came around, I felt like our families and friends were one. They each represent the support, strength, and love surrounding us as we move forward in life together.
As longtime admirers of Jordan Voth Photography, E + B were thrilled to have Jordan along for the ride. (We concur!) Let’s take a look at the couple’s classy desert celebration!
Lovers in the Desert
A wedding weekend means plenty of photo opportunities — and we don’t blame them for making the most of it!
How CUTE are they?!
BTW, if their style is this good pre-nuptials, just wait until you see the wedding day looks…eeek!
The First Look
Yay!
We’re digging those glam, fab, madly-in-love dessert vibes.
The Wedding Dress
We needed a closer look at that Inbal Dror dress…jaw ON THE FLOOR, right?!
There goes the bride!
The Boho-Black Tie Bridal Party
Those white dresses from Halston Heritage are just heavenly! (And by the way, bridesmaids in white are a current FAVORITE trend. Here’s another recent bridal party who pulled off the look!)
Erin carried a bouquet of romantic blooms, designed by none other than Siren Floral Co.
A Rainy + Romantic Ceremony
Apparently, it only rains about 10 days out of the year in Palm Springs. We think that’s sorta special if you ask us!
Blossoms, blossoms everywhere!
Erin: During our ceremony, our best friend Bethany was reading from a vintage 1st edition book. There we were, surrounded by cascading flowers glimmering with raindrops, and as she was speaking I watched the ink on the pages run. It was a moment so much more meaningful than I can describe. She gifted us the book and I love how when I open it, I see the running ink and vividly remember that love-filled moment.
Brendan: There was a serene quiet on the rooftop during our ceremony. It felt like nothing else was happening. Like it was just us and the people we love, frozen in time and sharing that moment.
A Desert-Hued Reception
Epic grazing table, anyone?!
We are loving these floral and linen desert tones with the gold accents!
Don’t do things because you have to, do things you want to! You can only fit so much into an event so it’s important to identify what will make the day fun-filled and special. Build the celebration around that.
Brendan’s must-have was a live band (which was so much fun!) and mine was an amazing photographer. I’d followed Jordan’s work for years and was grateful we could have him with us. I believe photography is one of the best investments you can make and that even if you spend less elsewhere, the right photographer will capture all the beauty of your day.
Fun fact: that neon sign is actually Erin’s handwriting! The Emily Dickinson quote was a favorite detail and inspired much of the overall themes. So special, right?
