Picture it: you’re in turn-of-the-century Paris. Can-Can girls are twirling in the Moulin Rouge. The absinthe is flowing. And the Art Nouveau movement of the decorative arts is brand new and full of rich colors and mystical shapes inspired by the curves of the natural and organic world. The whole world is shimmering + swirling like colorful stained glass in a Tiffany lampshade.
Now, imagine all that as a moody, antique-meets-modern wedding.
It was “Art Nouveau and stained glass artistry” that inspired the creators of this incredible wedding shoot at Briar Rose in Tyler, Texas according to Brooke Bankard – the mind behind the editorial’s event design (Amourelle Planning + Production) and planning + coordination (Wildflower Events + Design Co.). “From the stained glass inspired gown to the intricate hair and makeup echoing the era’s signature curves,” Brooke says, “every detail was designed to feel like stepping into a living piece of art.”
Stained glass flowers were tucked into fresh cut bouquets. There’s a stained glass-inspired wedding dress that simply takes our breath away. And thanks to these gorgeous photos from The Jarrells we can time travel together to the Belle Époque and the world of Art Nouveau!

“Lush, dramatic fall florals were accented with real stained glass flowers by Bellahera,” Brooke shares, “adding a whimsical, light catching twist that brought the entire vision to life.”

“The tabletop included custom printed placemats, die cut place settings, fan folded menus, and coordinating drink stirrers,” Brooke says.
