When your mom is Kelsey Klos, aesthetic visionary + event designer behind House Of Fete, you know your birthday party is going to be one spectacularly creative celebration.
Kelsey’s daughter Brennan was turning five, and Kelsey knew she wanted to do something super unique. “I took inspiration from my youngest favorite color orange, and ran with it,” Kelsey says. “I had seen this beautiful glittered orange in a Holiday ad and thought it would be fun to run with. I took the concept of the ‘orange’ and turned it into ‘orange juice’ and it snowballed from there. Instantly the wheels started turning: a waffle cake, diner vibes, and all things breakfast.”
Kelsey’s a total magician at making even the tiniest detail really count. This party’s colorful, sparkly setup is like an “I Spy” of fun + clever touches. Yummy breakfast treats, fabulous favors, diner-inspired decor details, balloons, a bounce house—we’re pretty jealous of the lucky kiddos who scored an invite!

Itsy Bitsy Parties created the vibrant orange and pale pink invites fro Brennan’s birthday. Love the retro font! And that adorable orange illustration!
“I turned my home into a colorful diner style setting,” says Kelsey, “filled with every delectable breakfast food I could think of.”
There were so many clever acrylic details create by Acrylic Sticks. One of our faves? These breakfast-y bread bag clip-inspired drink tags!
Those glittery sunny side up eggs! Lauren Glass Designs was the mind behind those along with the party’s confetti + glitter elements. And, wow, how perfect are those bread shaped plates!
Kelsey designed all of the day’s flower arrangements herself, and that coffee pot bouquet brought even more breakfast flair to the beautiful illustrated table runner by Cami Monet.
We spy a stack of fresh, fruity pancakes in with those bright + beautiful blooms!

Brennan’s BFFs got to do some diner-style creating with dough from Earth Grown KidDoughs and cute waffle-shaped silicone molds.
Breakfast For Dessert
Inspire by Two Roosters Ice Cream, Kelsey created a dessert station where guests could scoop their favorite ice cream flavors and then top it with all kinds of cereal!
Festive felt garlands from Pearl and Jane adorned the rolling breakfast bar cart setup.
Even the Jeni’s Ice Cream varieties Kelsey had on hand were breakfast flavored!
Egg cartons! What a genius way to keep your different scoop flavors separate!
“With giant watercolor guest checks on the wall filled with Harry Styles lyrics, and small details of Luke’s Diner from Gilmore Girls,” Kelsey remembers, “there was a new detail to be found at every corner.”
