It’s hard not to have a fabulous wedding in Italy, but somehow, this one takes it up a notch. Malin and Philip married at Masseria Potenti in Puglia. What’s a Masseria, you ask? These architectural structures typical to the Italian region of Puglia are essentially re-purposed farmhouses. Once used to house those that worked on the property, these Southern Italian buildings are now often used as bed and breakfasts and hotels.
The planning team behind Le Jour du Oui helped the couple combine their cultures and vision to have the wedding of a lifetime. Though the wedding was in Italy, Malin is from Sweden! Swedish colors, like coral and blue, were coordinated with the white and yellow tones of Puglia to create the perfect, unique color palette. Photographer Lilly Red brilliantly captured each photo from the day, leaving the pair with gorgeous photos they’ll cherish forever. Let’s dive into this beautiful wedding!
Color and Lace
We’re starting off strong with Malin’s gorgeous wedding dress! Her lacey, long-sleeved gown is straight out of a dream. It was sheer, yet timeless. A true feat!
Malin’s bouquet was as perfectly light and airy as her dress. A baby’s breath base gave the bouquet an ethereal look.
These bridesmaids understood the assignment! Malin’s closest friends were encouraged to wear dresses of their own choosing, with the only guideline being that they stayed within the coral color family.
These mismatched dresses look so chic!
La Masseria
Guests were greeted with the sight of this stunning 16th-century Mediterranean architecture. This venue is a minimalist bride’s dream!
The ceremony aisle was lined with beautiful white flowers and olive branches.
Can you guess what’s at the end of the aisle? It’s an ancient olive tree!
The classic bride walked down the aisle to the legendary ‘Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi.
Congratulations to the beautiful couple!
The property includes this stunning cherry-red vintage car. Not only does it make for a great photo op, but it’s also the perfect getaway vehicle!
Reception to Remember
As guests entered the reception space, an 11-piece live band played the most joyful music. All we can say is wow.
The couple teamed up with artist Madalina Andronic to create these stunning tambourine favors (that doubled as decor!). And yes, each guest got one of their very own faces!
The space was kept incredibly light and airy. White drapery perfectly complemented the pergola structure, while the table and chairs were kept incredibly rustic. Hanging florals above the family-style table gave the illusion of being in a garden.
It wouldn’t be the south of Italy without some beautiful fruits! This white stand was handsomely decorated with an array of lemons and chili peppers for a pop of color.
Guests fawned over the delicious selection of foods, like bruschetta and fresh focaccia.
Pearls are having a moment! We love how Malin styled this trendy piece with her timeless bridal look.
The rosé and good vibes carried on well into the night, leaving guests with a truly unforgettable experience.
Congratulations to Malin and Philip! May your love continue to flourish for countless years to come. Cheers!
